Melvin Kerchee's song used as an "on the drum" which means it may be sung at any time by anyone. It is a story of a warrior who has been to war and is back at home and is encouraged to "show himself off" or be recognized as a revered warrior veteran.

Most dominant tribe is n American history. No offense to the Lakota but the Comanche deserve the title of the most dominant!

I would be more careful if i was you. Comanches were mostly a non compromising brutal raiding bands that inherit the guns from Rangers and stil loss many fights with the white men. Sioux on the other hand were fighting only with bows, arrows, tomahawks, mounted or barefoot and defeated the army from one of the greatest general in the US history. They even fought a band of Comanches in the Black Hills somewhere in 1860's and they drove them away back down south.

@@HicJacetVampyr - where is your source for "the sioux fighting comanches in the 1860's?" comanches and sioux fought in the 1700's prior to the comanches leaving wyoming for the southern plains. i can assure you the sioux and comanches did not fight in the 1860's. also, the sioux did have guns.

Even if the Comanches weren’t the most dominant they were definitely, the most feared

What I was told is that this song was made by Sylvester Warrior for a Comanche man I can only remember as Melvin K. I might be wrong or right but that's just what I was taught.

Beautiful brings tears to my eyes. Proud of being part comanche. Before learning that i had comanche blood i would always get goose bumps listening to any music, dance, ritual, etc. Now i know why.
