This song is an excellent example of less is more; a simple, sparse arrangement sets the perfect mood, and allows one to concentrate on Gary's ghostly voice (is it just me, or has his singing _improved_ the older he gets!?).
After Numan lost direction with his dance/funk output of the late ’80s and early ‘90s, he put out this album Sacrifice (in ‘94, I think it was) and you could tell - just from the front cover - that he had found his way back. It was his best album since 1981’s Dance, in my opinion.
For all the darkness, for all the machine, for all the disenchantment in Gary's vision I always saw a beauty and fragility....this track proves my theory. Beautiful x

I think Fenton has his place, but I prefer the darkness of Exile and Sacrifice and the heaviness of Pure. They needed work to touch them up, but that's it, just a touch up, not a full mix around. I like Savage and Splinter, but I feel that they would have been better if Gary had more to say about how he wants it to be
