1911 compact.....love of my entire life! Edit: in .45acp!

My gun dealer sells it for $1099.99 that is $200 over the MSRP. When I walked in this gun shop, I knew that I wanted a 1911 45 caliber. I always wanted to own a colt but thought it was rather doubtful to get one because a lot of gun shops just didn’t have them. A lot of gun shops either didn’t carry them because of competitors or they just couldn’t get their hands on the plane and simple.
I was thinking about getting a Springfield 1911 that had cherry colored grips. Unfortunately, they didn’t have that color grips in stock. They had some darker color that I was not interested in.
Then all of a sudden young sales person eyes lit up, and said hey do we still have that Colt that we just got in yesterday asking the other sales sales, he said he wasn’t sure because he had plenty of people looking at it when they got it in . The second salesman helped him find it in the drawer. He showed me a 1911 colt 45 defender with cherry color grips on it.
The barrel was a short, 3 inch, I was kinda looking for something longer the traditional type however, when I held this particular gun in my hand, it was a perfect fit. I found guns hard to be a good fit for my small hands because my hands were not with long fingers..
The three salesman were talking about that gun for at least 15 minutes saying how hard it is to get a firearm in their store let alone a new one from Colt.
they all were talking about this particular Colt and I don’t think it was a sales tactic for me to buy it.
The guy was telling me that our shop makes request for handgun all the time, but for to meet supply in demand, they have them on the list and will send very few out whenever they can .
Although you have 15 to 18 rounds and 9 mm handguns out there, I keep hearing people can’t hit their target in a shoot out.
They said that whenever they get any kind of Colt 45 in their inventory it doesn’t last long.
I had gone to three other gun shops and nobody had a colt 45 in stock not even an old one . I realize after looking it up online, this particular gun dealer wanted $200 more over MSRP but I knew damn well if I didn’t put a deposit on it, I would most likely never be able to get on for years to come.
It was a nice compact Concealed Carry type of colt 45 that was perfect for my hand. Great balance in the weight awesome Novak sites. The gun can take the typical eight rounds with one in the chamber I thought not a bad.
The gun is a real beautiful gun a real work of art. It’s certainly did not look cheap looking. I think the average person out there spends about five or $600 on a handgun. This one was $1100 and I thought my life is worth more than that. You want a reliable good quality firearm to protect yourself.
Many people I know keep saying get a 9 mm instead which I actually own a compact one Smith & Wesson. Not a bad gun I kept on hearing strange stories about the 9 mm.
I keep on hearing how people miss their targets in a shootout or that it’s not an enough stopping power in a shoot out. however, a 45 caliber has some serious stopping power.
I asked my gun instructor why he carries a 1911 handgun? He said good stopping power and I don’t have the confidence in a 9 mm like many other people do. I noticed he carried a $5000 1911 brand which I will not name. I asked him about that and he said it’s over and there are less expensive 45 caliber handguns that probably would be even better than the one he’s carrying.
I asked him don’t you feel carrying eight rounds at a disadvantage over someone you might have to go against that’s carrying around 9 mm. He said absolutely not.
It’s not how many rounds you carry, it’s what you can hit with what you have.
I asked him what he thought about revolvers. He said revolvers are the most reliable guns there are, they don’t jam up, but I will tell anyone carrying one make your shots really count because you only have six. He said, I found revolver hard to conceal.
He did say one thing, it’s always a good idea to carry a back up handgun a number two.
Young salesman said to me, it’s a Colt you can’t go wrong with it. The young salesman didn’t realize it, but he already sold me the idea of buying it. He said we don’t get many cults coming in our store. We are lucky to get 4 Colt guns a month and we never know exactly what kind that we are getting.
Young sales are said I can promise you before the weekend is over that gun will be sold and I believe him. You still have people in GunBroker selling old Colts World War II ever selling them for as high as $2000
And I noticed it’s hard to even get a brand new Colt. I think with supplying demand worldwide owning a Colt is getting to be a rare thing to have in your gun collection.

My Friend, Your excellent video skills are straight to the point with no side BS Thank You! Your lighting and clear visible way you display each item, with excellent voice and good information is to be highly commended.
You just made a lot of people well informed, and personally for me, your video was the final deciding factor for me purchasing this weapon over the Kimber Ultra Carry.
I've seen other videos of course with some real "Tacti-Cool" chuckleheads, and I learned bit's and pieces from each one, but with your excellent video skills, YOU sold me.
Thanks for this excellent video and I sincerely hope a rep from Colt HR was watching.
Big Cheers Mate. I've Absolutely Subscribed!

I can barely handle a full sized GI 1911. Chopping inches and ounces off of it must make it safer to be on the receiving end than the recoil end.

hi im from india .here we have one which is a copy of colt defender...i am planning to buy one but but sure about the range , power, performance of this model due the short barrel and the huge .45 that goes into it...can any one who has experience in this perticular model tell me. what is the difference between a full size 1911 and this one in terms of range , power, performance ?
