They are one of the few teams in the position to make that one year push (unfortunately the Vikings still have $30M of Cousins dead cap so they don't get the boost of a nearly free starting QB). Nobody seems to be thinking of Wilson as a long term solution at QB though - just a value proposition for a single year.

As a Raider fan I would be torn about having Russ. The Raiders have been coming together as a team and finding their identity, Russ doesn't fit. However Rus could be the cheapest bridge QB and if we aren't jumping up in the draft for a QB then he isn't a bad option.

as a raider fan so many of us don’t want wilson but this is such an ideal situation. if the defense performs the way they ended the year last year it could be scary. this would give us the money to resign jacobs and bolster up the defense. all of this and we can still draft a qb with wilson at the vet minimum. i think it’s a no brainer if wilson wants to become a las vegas raider

This is coming from someone who hates the Broncos, but Russel Wilson is underrated as hell. He is 35 and QBs can usually play until 40 or more like Brady. He still has about 5-7 years left in him.
Russ going to the falcons. They get a legit starter and can draft a QB in this draft and develop him. Grab a receiver in free agency and they're good. They were competitive for most games this past year, until the 4th quarter

But then..... just like Dorothy found out when she woke up from her dream in Emerald City.. EVERYTHING WE WANTED AND NEEDED WAS IN OUR OWN BACK YARD!! Geno Smith came through and saved the day. Issue with Vikings is that they have to eat nearly $30M of Cousins dead cap (kind of like what the Bucs had to do last year with Brady's cap). That will prevent forming a super team, but it would make the Vikings competitive even with the cap hit. Also the Broncos are signing up for the next two years of Wilson or we are just having this same conversation again next year because his 2025 salary isn't yet guaranteed, but it will be in two weeks. I almost see him as a plug and play starter for a playoff team that loses its starting QB (like Flacco and the Browns last year). I don't know if Wilson, with is 2024 bargain rate, can negotiate some sort of contract with guarantees past 2024, but that should probably be his goal (unless he thinks he can ball out and improve his position even more like Mayfield did last year).

I have a weird take on the broncos situation but I can guarantee it’s an unpopular opinion; Russell and Sean Payton aren’t the problem and they can definitely work well together, I jus think the skill position players didn’t exactly fit what they wanted to do, and it’s hard to completely retool that part of a football team without spending money. Money that the broncos don’t have, so it’s definitely messy. However, I think if they can find a way to Keep Russ and get rid of Juedy, Patrick, retool the WR room and get another guy to go along side Mims and Sutton, they will be a solid team. They already were this past season but this particular situation was the reason they lost a chance at playoffs. Hopefully it gets sorted out because I enjoyed watching Russell last year he wasn’t electric by any means but he was a great game manager.

Contracts are never guaranteed, that’s why I say as a player you should always sign a one year deal every year that way if you want to leave then you’re not bound year after year
