    These guys made it look easy. It's incredibly hard to get ONE strike in candlepin bowling.

    Interestingly enough, in Paul Berger's 500 string back in 1992, he didn't have 4 strikes in a row in that third string where he bowled a 193, but he did get five strikes in that game total (1st, 5th, 7th, 8th and 10th boxes) and came close to getting six strikes in a row (9 pins in the first ball of the 6th box, 8 pins in the first ball of the 9th box were what prevented it)

      This was great, thanks, I've been looking for "what is the end of a bowling lane called?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Piylivern Remarkable Predominance - (search on google ) ? It is a smashing one off guide for discovering how to up your bowling game quickly without the normal expense. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my buddy got cool success with it.

    WOW!!!! So glad to view candlepin bowling classics.
    I remember when Oltzka rolled a then record 483 George Raymond's 4 bagger was against Oltzka, my mom also commented 'Oltzka sh--- his pants'.
    Jim Barber rolled a 191 that string. Started watching Saturday bowling since 1970.

    Interesting facts on these bowlers who made this historic feat! George Raymond and Jim Barber did this at Sammy White's Brighton Bowl. George did his 4 in a row in the 1st game of 3. Jim had his done in Game 2 of 3. Dick O'Connell, Jeff Atkins, Tom Olszta, and Jack Saniuk made it at Fairway Sports in Natick, Mass. Dick was done in Game 1 of 3, Jeff did it in Game 2 of 3, Tom's 1st game of 3 he did it in, and Jack made his on the FINAL game of his 3 string match. IRONIC THAT Jack got his 1st strike in frame #6, then sat down, got the next 2, sat down again and got his 4th in frame #9. All the others did it 2 strikes in a row then sat down, and got the next 2 in a row after that!

      I was going to ask this, figuring nobody on here knew for certain. Thank you for the answer, from 5 years in the past! I read that Stasia Czernicki once started a string with 5 straight strikes. I wonder if that was televised or just in a regular string somewhere. The co-record-holders with 245's I assume one of those had a 5-bagger in there but maybe not?

    • @timross6990
      @timross6990 Před rokem +1

      Ralph Semb started off his 245 with a seven-bagger, while co-record holder Chris Sargent had a 6-bagger in frames 2 thru 7. Incidentally, Ralph incorrectly states that he's the only candlepin bowler to have a perfect 150 half. Brian Fuller Jr's high single of 224 began with 6 consecutive strikes..
