  • A female undulate ray (Raja undulata) in the Isle of Wight's Solent shallows! Undulate rays are an endangered species, but here in the seas of the Isle of Wight their numbers have recovered well and they are now one of our most regular ray species. They primarily feed on crustaceans and small fish, and spend much of the day resting on sandy and gravelly seabeds, emerging at dusk to forage.
