    Very useful, thank you. I’m a beginner bass player and I didn’t know that little adjustments were often required, but you’re right, even from one session to the next there’s a slight tuning to be made. Love this tuner!

    Thanks! Just starting to learn an instrument for the first time. This was very helpful for tuning a bass on my own!

    I enjoyed your presentation very much. You made this lesson informative and simple to follow. I'm a returning "Bass Player" at 73, I use to play in some group/bands back in the 60's and 70's but then slowly lost interest drifted away. Things have certainly changed since the days I use to play a Bass Guitar. Right now I just play for my own enjoyment, following bass players from various songs.

    I have always finalized a tuned string by tuning up to the note. The string is a little bit tighter than if you tune down to the note.

    Tune up to the note. Never loosen to achieve the note. Also mute the other strings you're not tuning while tuning.

      we all break strings as beginners, even as professional you can break strings.
      although I've never broken a bass string, you REALLY have to try to do that.
      Guitars strings in the other hand dozens and dozens, only high E ones though.

    Will an electronic tuner work without an amp being in use?

    • @gruporight

      Yes the tuner has a button and activate a small microphone so the tuner listens or feel the vibration of the base. No need to use the amp

    Does this work for a five string?

    • @drumsbassguitarbasics9220
      @drumsbassguitarbasics9220  Před 4 lety +2

      Mike Shelton Hello, answering to your question, 5 string basses are becoming more popular. Having another string you will have an extra low tone. You have 2 options adding the extra low string they can be tuned B, E, A, D, G or by adding a high string E, A, D, G, C.

    Sorry don't want to Cr@p on the party, but this is wrong. Always Tune up to a note, never loosen to it, but loosen lower than the note you want to tune (I stretch the string a tew times at this point..) and then keep tightening till you're in tune. Remember, upwards. Cheers👍😉
