  • A look at oxygenating pond plants (oxygenators) and how they help a pond and the insects around the pond. Examples seen including Ceratophyllum Demersum (Hornwort), Myriophyllum Spicatum (Spiked Water Milfoil) and Eleocharis Acicularis (Dwarf Needle Spike Rush). Also in this video is information on seasons when Callitriche Stagnalis (Starwort), Ranunculus Aquatilis (Water Crowfoot), Ceratophyllum Demersum (Hornwort) and Hippuris Vulgaris (Marestail) and Myriophyllum Milfoil are available to buy.

Hi petelongrs, yes that is correct and is why fish kills often happen in the early hours at high temperatures. You'll find lots more information like that in my book, available on my website, Amazon and elsewhere

Good quick video but could you update it with the common names of plants on the screen please? Thanks

Wonder if you can tell me the difference between Upright Water Milfoil and Spiked Water Milfoil - as we were recommended Spiked, but have had to buy Upright as it's all we could get. Thanks

Do these oxgenating plants then consume oxygen at night?
