Like everybody else, for decades I just assumed that it was Joe Perry and Brad Whitford playing the solos. The great irony is that those solos became legendary trademarks of Aerosmith and neither of them played them.

All these years we looked up to Perry and Whitford as the players on this track. Steve didn't get paid a dime (maybe he did) but he sure turned a lot of heads of us teenagers lusting to be rock guitar gods. Dick Wagner gets equal credits as well. I tried to rip these boys clean and got pretty close. Burned through a few copies of the record in the process.
