Great video. One tip from doing lots of marine audio installs is once you have access to plugs to plug new part in to make sure it works to save you from having to do a full install and have to take apart again if you got a bad unit

I installed my wireless charger. Took less than 15 minutes. It's only a 10 watt charger. So not that fast. Still glad I did the mod

You did a great job - very detailed & informative installation video! And thanks for pointing out the missing steps, we'll update the work instructions accordingly. PS Whenever you disconnect the battery, Tundras tend to forget how to keep running on startup. It's not a problem. ;-)

Yes, the dealer has the latest information. We don't know how backorders are fulfilled between port (these are also installed on MY 2020 trucks as an option) and dealer. We're working on it ASAP!
From what I understand, any time you disconnect the battery on a Tundra it'll start and then die on the first start.

i havent tested it, but i was told that after you reconnect your battery, turn your truck to accessories for 20 to 30 seconds then start the truck. this allows the truck to reset itself and will not shut itself off upon restarting

Nice! I will be sure to pick that one up to clean up the annoying charging wire. I'm sure it cant be any slower than the dual usb charger provided to us by Toyota in that little baggie. If only Toyota could put lightning USB ports like in my 2017 F150💵, but that's asking too much from them..

It shut off because you erased the computer when you disconnected negative terminal. It might even run rough for a little bit until computer figures out everything. I'm going to put a memory saver on my OBD II port. Thanks for the video.

Nice install vid, great job. The first one I’ve seen since I heard about this part. Looks very simple to install. My IPhone lives in this spot so I might as well give it a nice home. If it’s a 10 watt charger or higher it should charge decently with my Otterbox cover on.

Nice detailed install. I like that the button changes from green to blue when charging. Does it change back to green when the phone is at 100% or just stay blue while the phone is cradled?

Did the package include double back tape to reinstall the Model placard? Were zip ties included? I ordered today (after watching your install video) from Sparks using the RobMotive discount code. Received status email from Sparks indicating the unit is back ordered. Just wanted to ask about the double back tape and zip ties so that I can pick some up if necessary. Great video Rob.
Hey Robert. It includes zip ties. The placard is held on by clips. No dbl sided tape necessary 👍
@@RobMotive Note, the SR5 badge snaps in and out. The other trim level badges have adhesive on the backside. Simply pop these out carefully with a nylon pry tool and re-install - no additional tape necessary. As long as you don't drop it on the floor and foul up the adhesive.

Rob, installed the charring tray in my 2018 DC last night. It appears from your video that you turn the charging tray on via the power button after you start your vehicle. Mine turns on automatically when the vehicle is started or the key is turned to the ACC position even if the unit was powered off prior to removing the key. I would prefer that it not come on automatically which would be the point of the power button. Can you confirm the what yours does?
Mine is default on just like yours. I’d prefer it be the other way around like you mentioned👍
Rob Anytime you disconnect the battery when restarting it always dies. That is normal.Does it in my 4runner, Tacoma and Tundra.

However, when I installed it it did not work. The charger does not power on and the outlet in the back does not power on also. I connected the original cable to the rear outlet and it works fine. Do you think I got a defective one or maybe the fuse in the cable is bad? If so what number fuse is it? Thanks in advance.
I’d run thru the connections again very carefully. Typically it’s connected wrong. Check the fuses too🤔
@@RobMotive Connections are the same way as in the video. I do see a purple fuse in there. Might try replacing that one?
Check your truck fuse too.
@@RobMotive Well my regular backseat outlet works fine so It can’t be the truck fuse, case just be the fuse in the t harness. Will try replacing it and see if that works. Thank you
You reset your computer when it was disconnected from the battery. That’s why it cut off after you try to start it for the first time. They all do this on first start up after f D is connect of battery. All gas mileage readings and things of this nature all reset. Do you know why it did this and didn’t want any other folks thinking that they did anything wrong.

Hey Cory. There are some “nubs” that hold it very well. There’s really very little room for the phone to move. I haven’t noticed any way for it to stop charging once placed on the charger👍

Does anyone else have the issue that if you turn off the wireless
charger, then, restart the truck it comes on again automatically? That
drives me nuts! I don't want it on unless I turn it on. It has a power
button. If I turn off the stereo or the dome lights I don't want those

Works great Rob thanks for the tutorial also it will switch of if you hold down the on off button if your not using and is bright at night. But once you turn car of and back on it switches on automaticly

Is it normal that it warms up? Also I noticed you turned yours on after you turned on your truck. Mine turns on always when I turn on my truck, although I can turn it off afterwards.
Yup, it will heat up when in operation. Mine turns on with the ignition. The default is on.
