Our 2017 Jetta - at 45,000+ miles has yet to have an issue. Tires, clutch, battery, brakes et al are original. MPG is just under 41 since Summer 2017 purchase. 5M has great synchros, clutch is light, steering precise. Car is fun to drived too. With the rear seats folded forward - the big trunk get even bigger. USB connection permits transferral of the 6 CD's from my TDI wagon to a flash drive. I really like this car.

I totaled out my 2016 Jetta last month and my local VW dealer was awesome and immediately put me in a 2017 Jetta S which is a vast improvement over the 2016. I love this car.

Bummer about your 2016, but glad to hear the silver lining was getting into a new 2017! I would agree that the '17 is a bit better than the '16, but both cars are fantastic...considering the engine under the hood. Enjoy your new car!

Trend Motors Volkswagen I agree. They are both great cars. The little upgrades on the 17 just make it that much better. One thing ive noticed is that the turbo on the 17 is much louder than my 16s was(which makes it even more fun to drive). I was curious as to why that is. I thought you may know what they changed on the turbo. I almost never heard my 16s turbo but I can hear my new one spooling in every gear

I have the 2017 Jetta S and it has the optional alloys and cold weather package added on as well. It is a great car. I was originally looking at a 16 S w/technology last year but I decided to wait and i"m glad I did. Upgrades are LED daytime running lights, chrome window trim, body color mirrors, chrome interior trim, two-tone seats, 16' alloy wheels, heated seats, and heated windshield washers. However, the things I lose from the S w/ tech are SiriusXM, Apple car play, and the 6.5' touchscreen. It would have been nice if those things were an option on the S for 2017, because the SE is too loaded this year IMO. But it's worth sacrificing the infotainment for all of the other bells and whistles.

I have 2017 wolfsburg edition, and I don't mind it.
