Mediocre people with no passion or love for creativity, never heard before melodies,, off beat rhythm, new instruments and their uses, singing with cracked voice, could hardly understand and appreciate his class and craftsmanship in those days and give him awards. That's exactly what happened. It is unbelievable that he had no Filmfare to his credit in seventies when actually he ruled the fim music with his timeless and wonderful creations.But time has proved his Genius and his creations became immortal

He never knew that people will keep on loving his voice otherwise he would have kept all songs in his voice also. That would have been a Gem for all of us.
Even in 2023, only 10 to 12% of population of India, understand creativity of Panchamda. That's why my presumption is, another 50 to 70 years to understand his work. 💐
RD Burman saab's songs are beyond amazing always but him singing his songs as he composes them is Godly. Just divine. Unbelievably even better than the playback songs. The first 30 seconds of him singing is infinitely better than the actual amazing song in the movie 🙏
He has made millions of people pagal! I am one among them! I became pagal at the age of 14 when I first listened the songs of HARE RAMA HARE KRISNA! That was the day and till today I remain pagal and remain till my last day!!
