Very thorough and concise. Very helpful. Thank you.
is it better to have a 1/50 or 50/50
@@eaglesfan0965 the hobby treats bookends fairly similarly, FOTP (first off the print) and LOTP (last off the print) are terms used but it's a perceived premium by collectors. Jersey match numbers are also popular and equivalently treated.
Has any one used the Marketmoversapp ?
As a 45 year old father and new to the hobby, I cannot thank you enough for these instructional videos. They have been ridiculously valuable, and my nine year old son and I watch at least one of your videos every single night before he goes to bed. Really appreciate you.
EXACTLY!!! I buy them for my son because he loves opening them. It does get pricey but to see him smile and get excited about opening them makes me happy. 😊😊😊
👍
Great vid.👍
Your show is not only informative but absolutely imperative to the early card collector! Thank you keeping such a great American tradition going!!
Ripping wax is so fun but addicting.
So I haven't collected cards since the mid 90's and needed some education. My six year old son in wanting to start collecting, and I might as well be a rookie in this hobby again. I found this video and it's so incredibly helpful. The app is amazing as well. Thank you for this.....and Go Gators.
That was one hell of a breakdown. U can't get any better info than that, excellent 👌 job
Thanx Geoff as usual. The productions are getting better by the day - very entertaining. Your "App" is a must for anyone who's investing in modern cards and attending numerous shows.
This is a powerful video. Thanks for the information!!!! Never buy individual packs. So many tips!!!
Indubitably the most comprehensive & informative video related to sports card collecting on CZcams! Greatly appreciated.🤙🏽
Excellent information. As someone who's collected in the past for fun but has run into alot of frustration with the hobby. It's nice to actually find someone who's willing to share the information and to help new and fellow collectors. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to learning alot more.
This video is a GemMint 10. Very comprehensive overview of the market. I’m an experienced collector/investor and I still found it valuable in pulling together a lot of important concepts.
lol
For someone that has jumped back in in the last year or so after a 15 year hiatus, this is great info. Thank you for the video.
Absolute legend this video and series is much appreciated, thank you
Buddy, this video is fantastic! I’m a veteran card collector of 1 week now lol and learned that the first 3 psa mint gem 10 cards (the only cards I now own) that I way over payed but it was fun buying them. The information you layed down in this vid is priceless…… thank you and I 100% subscribed
Absolutely!!! One of the best videos I have viewed I Thank you kindly for your time and valuable information. God Bless Youl
Love these videos helping the hobby!
Been out of cards for years! This was really helpful! Thanks! 🎉
I was a huge sport card fan in the 90's I kinda stopped when my favorite card company Upper Deck went away. Now I see my little brother is into getting into the hobby & teaching me about all the different variants of cards & what to look out for. I'm in my late 40's & my eyes are not to keen on spotting defects on raw cards. With grading being so expensive I can't afford to pay high end money on a raw card & hope to get a 10.
Messed up and bought an unlicensed product, didn’t even think about it until this video. Thanks for the info!
Awesome job Geoff. I only got into the hobby October 2020 and I have learned a lot by myself. Everything you mentioned I already knew but this helps buyers make better decisions. Great, great, great video❗
pulled a Brock Lesner auto out of a Chronicles blaster box a few days ago!! Thanks for the content Geoff and team!!
I opened up about 8 of the blasters, not a huge fan. I guess all the chase cards are in the hobby box, which I can’t afford.
As a brand new (only 2 weeks) collector) future investor, thank you so very much. This is the most helpful video ive found for people such as myself who has no clue what they're doing 😅
I’m going to bet that THIS vlog will be the MOST viewed here at SCI. 👍🥇
Shout out from Taiwan, I am a 41-year-old newbie, and I couldn't find a good all-around tutorial video in my language. This helps me a lot!!!! thank you~😎
Ty sir. Sharing your information has single handedly helped and fed my love for cards. Hats off to ya.
Love the vids great meeting you at the Dallas card show Geoff
Nice video for newbies Geoff! I have been in the hobby for years but listened to all of it as a refresher.
Great video man, so much good insight here for anyone new to Sports Card Investing. Really good stuff!
We were given two boxes of 80's and 90's baseball cards that our daughter ran across and combined them with our lot your videos have been a saving grace for my sanity. Thank you in your attempt to save my brain
I'm starting to love this channel and I'm a newbie..I'm gathering so much knowledge before making mistakes and there are wayyy more than I thought! So thank you for that. I come at the sports card world again after buying a small shoebox worth of cards 1990s football primarily but I bout from retail, mom and pop and even bought some cards off a friend who was a huge collector. I started scanning my box with the Ludex App and most were worth maybe 15c 70c or not much over $3 a good number were worth between $5-40....whether or not I command any such dollar online or at a card shop might not be likely but and ungraded but perhaps there's a couple.
Excellent content for beginners getting into the hobby. Recently got back into it and haven't bought any since I was a kid 20 years ago! Thanks for the info!
I collect and invest in TCGs and enjoy your alternative mindset
As a Beginner collecting & maybe later on flipping some cards Gotta say love watch your videos all the info and Tips you give us Thank you 👍🏼
Geoff, this is probably the best tutorial on sports cards I ever viewed on you tube. Well done.
Worst kind of person for the hobby right here,☝️
So glad I found your channel. Great content, especially for someone who hasn't followed baseball nor bought a pack of cards over the past 20 years. I'm a junk wax kid as well and I've been dusting off my old collection and discovering how much has changed. Thanks for help catching me up! New subscriber here :)
I just had my first online break with new mosaic set and pulled a Derwin James blue mosaic /99 in team colors. As a chargers fan I’m super hyped for that has me wanting to get more!!
I want a LT and a J herbo card so bad
This was very well done Geoff. A great resource to share across the hobby/industry.
walked into a shop today for the first time in 30 years, took my boys for their first time ever. thanks for the info as we hop into it! liked and subbed
Great advice on the breaks. I break a few times a week and it's mostly for entertainment/collecting not for investing.
The card website continues to help me out so much thank you
Thanks for this valuable information great channel im new to this hobby so this channel is a great find.
The best channel for a beginner ty sir
Geoff love your insight into the hobby on sports cards. Also am excited about the future of Pokemon , magic cards, and some non sport cards as well.
Got back into it recently, and just doing it for fun ripping and PC. After watching his videos It has gotten me into the investment side of it, and its almost as much fun trying to find deals.
Wow thanks! This is a great for me getting back into collecting cards.
No one beats 90s cards specially the inserts💪 panini is dumb😅
Geoff! Great info👍🏼.. same here ima 80’s, 90’s kid and Upper deck,Fleer,Skybox,Flair etc.. are cards that still hold on too as old as i am.. crazy variations nowadays!
I'm 46 and just started collecting graded cards for my own pc, Just want to thanks you for this videos. This video was very helpful, and yeah it's crazy to know what I want to collect or focus into. I like non sports card's like Star wars and Pokémon but I also like those auto sports card but they are out of my price range.
I like your video presentation. It is informative too, at the same time. Thanks a lot for your guidance!
Wished I would've learned this before I started. I have been screwed by people who drove up the bids to my max. Thank You for the videos
Thank you this helped so much!
Wow!! So I recently got back into collecting and when I say recently I mean about a month ago. I would say 100% of what you said about ripping sealed wax boxes was true for me. I did purchase some hobby boxes and opened them up immediately and even though I did it for fun I also did it for investing as well. Clearly big mistake lol. So I’ll take a new approach from here on out and get 2-3 hobby boxes so if I DO get the urge to open a box then at least I’ll still have one or two left to store lol. Thank you for what you do, definitely subscribed to your channel after this video even though I have been recently watching them. Looking forward to watching more of your videos.
I took so much notes thank you so much appreciate this video a lot
Great video! Been collecting for a long time now & starting to "invest". With that said, which is a better investment: getting cards graded or buy already graded cards?
I'm just starting to work on my card addiction. It's so hard to break away from it's so easy to buy cards and get into breaks just sitting on my phone during down times
Thank you so much for these video
If you have an altered card that you want to get past the professional graders/opinion sellers, definitely use PSA.
Go Gators... I'm in Ocala. Thanks for the video definitely learned some things today
thank you so much for posting this, this helped so much as I am a new sports card investor/collector
Thanks for taking the time to make this video! It's really helped. However, just wanted to find out how would individuals like myself get a case for a reasonable (retail) price?
Very thorough presentation. Well done SCI! 👏
What about in person player autographs on cards? Are they more valuable if they can be authenticated or graded?
Very Insightful!!! Thanks
Best way to invest and only have upside is to just watch channels like this and never put in a dime =)
Thanks again for the information.
Thank you! So much useful information!!
Awesome video i learn a lot for my channel and collecting future.
Thanks and saludos desde Chile
Long-term, is sealed wax better than investing in individual cards ?
Always wanted to know the value of my Brady national treasure numbered any idea how to do this?
Very informative for the new collector
How would you recommend starting in breaks? I'm looking to invest in some breaks.
I appreciate this video I was about to spend almost 1k on plates and patches football cards not worn by the players
Very good video and information, even for those of us who aren’t brand new to the hobby. Thanks Geoff!👍🏼
I just started collecting cards for fun but after seeing some of your videos, I started looking at collecting some for investing. I am slowly learning but your videos are more helpful than anything and enjoyable to watch.
Thank you !! This is a great video.
Buy all old school rookies and inserts
Awesome info! Thanks!
Thank u for allllll your help appreciate 😊
In regards to the talk about Pristine/Pristine 10 Black...one thing I'd like to see for someone that just wants to buy a handful of cards that are worth enough now but still able to get into like a $300 card that may appreciate in the future to lets say $700 in the next few years....I'd love to see you buy one of these pristine cards and update on the tracking info to see which card has gone up
Super useful.. definitely learned a bunch
Think this video is needed for new investors! A useful link to send to people coming into to the hobby!
I have some cards that I need graded but they are taking so long to grade. Is there another respected company that grade. I have Roberto Clemente that need to be graded and priced.
Happy 4 u with gold Pickett. But Steelers struggling. ❤❤❤
thank you for the educational video
Anyone know where I can go too talk too someone that knows about error cards
You've mentioned companies significantly increased print runs in recent years compared to early 2000s. Can you compare the recent print increase to the early 90s? Is there a source for collectors to find out print runs for any given year?
Very informative. Thank you so much .
I only collect Magic and Marvel, but this was still a great video.
Great content. If it werent for Lonzo Ball I'd say always on point roflmao....
The value of your apps is true genius
I Love this Sport 💙📈
I have a large collection of cards that I came across years back doing storage lockers and would like to look at selling them but not sure just where I could turn to that would actually be honest and fare being there are actually some Awesome cards in there but I don't know one name from the next. Where could I turn to for help with them ??
How many cards to grade do you consider bulk grading
When you say that we never should buy a card right after the series release debut. By example, if I want to buy cards like Trevor Zegras young guns, Cole Caufield young guns and Spencer Knight young guns, what is the delay that I should wait to purchase theses? 1 month? 2 months? Thank you!
Is mosaic good for football and basketball ?
Does it cost extra todo the thicker jersey cards ect at some of these companies
So does the packs at walmart have value?
I made hobby more interesting knowing that you can make it an investment long term, and also with the knowledge that Mr. Geoff shared a lot, not just how to make profit but educate more people that wants to start with the hobby. Thank you so much been following you since i started the hobby back in May!
My dad, cousins, and uncles passed on hundreds of random cards to me and my brother when we were growing up. I have been going through a few of them. Some cards are very old and very cool but the newer ones seem to go for more. I'll never understand it. Also it seems like every time I have one worth money my dad either wrote on it when he was a kid or I damaged it growing up.
Also, when did people start saying "ripping wax" and calling good cards "hits"? I'm also from the era when the packs actually felt waxy and I've never heard this until recently. I like the new terms, but I'm just curious when they started?
