    I glad that this type of video on M271 series engines, from ecuboot and from many others, are available in u tube. They very certainly very helpful to novices like me to know better a car's typical issue and show ways they are rectified. I am getting a 2006 E200k, in good conditions, for about USD5000. In internet search the spare parts is 20% to 30% more expensive than comparable japanese cars. Not too bad actually. So me getting a E200k for next 5 to 10 years, is manageble as long as problems are correctly identified and needed parts are replaced. Basically repairs not by guess work. Simple problem like leak PCV hose, will cause engine to shakes, which can easily scare off any car owners and could be taken advantage by dishonest workshop to do unnessary big repairs. We all cars owners are thankful for such videos. Keep on making them. It is now less daunting to me in getting a 2006 E200k vs the comparable scenario of me buying a 1992 mercedes says 17 years ago.       Have you got this mercedes with m271 engines ? have you done a timing chain replacement ?

      ​@@harisyoung4110it bought from the son of the 2nd owner. Made in 2006. All service records are lost. Before buying it the local mechanic had check it with STAR diagnostic OBD2. Angle of intake and exhaust is good at +115 and -115 degree - from what I can recall.
      Next year will open up the top cover to check the condition sprocket & timing chain.
      This March I change the old PCV valve & hoses. Before changing the engine oil level shows a gain of 2mm at 2 to 3 minutes using 600mm dip stick after the 1st engine starting in early morning and engine kept running during dipping.
      After changing it shows a drop of 30mm of engine oil level with engine still running at 750rpm. 😂😂😂. Old PCV indicate it was made in year 2007. Could be installed into this car perhaps 5 to 10 years after 2006.🤔🤔🤔. Old hoses was still ok.

      ​@@harisyoung4110timing chain had being replaced or not I am not sure. 2nd owner have it for 10 years before I bought it. He done about 80,000 to 90,000km. Me I have done 15,000km on it.
      Now it shows 204,000km on the dashboard. I suspect the cases of timing chain wear at less than 100,000km could be due to using counterfeit engine oil, aggressive speeding of car before engine is warm up, short trips under 10 miles in winter, gasoline fuel contamination into engine oil due to seal leak at its gasoline fuel pump which is operated by engine cam.
      I cut open the old paper oil filter during oil change this March. A few specks of shinny metal on it. The mechanic says it is ok for a 17 year old car. 1cm3 of steel is nearly of 8g mass. So a few specks of metal while not perfect should be ok for me. 1000km per month of usage. 😂😂😂

    Please explain more how the boost pressure control valve work ? I mean whether it open and close instructed by ECU based on the pressure ? Any motor like throtle body for this flap and how to check it is still fine

    Do you know where the SPS solenoid valve is located on the w203 2006 model petrol engine, it controls the amount of power to the power steering.

    Nice video! Would you be able to tell me where the Pcv valve is located on the 2003 1.8 kompressor coupe engine?
    It’s for a P0172 system too rich code

      It's beneath the compressor. You'll have to remove the whole left side of the engine's peripheral systems (air filter housing, intake manifold, compressor etc.).

    I've a 2006 1.8.
    The engine is failed so can I replace it with up to 2010 1.8 compressor engine..
    Now I've not split the original engine shes losing load power and found metal in oil filter. Eng mange lite saying 2nd flow pump.
    So. What you think?

    Hi, you talked about Supercharger and bypass valve at the end. Im interesting in smaller supercharger pulley to increase air boost pressure and gain some HP. Question is if this bypass valve via ecu do not cut exessive boost? Can I expect gain some HP without tune?

      Fo supercharger resonator delete.
      Will sund like Audi TFSi.
      Yes smaller pulley kit will add power.
      230 kompressor m271 supercharger is bigger. Eaten Supercharger.
      You can have your charger flowed to.

    I have a 2005 C230, I have a code p0010 the car runs perfect I would clear the code after replacing The sensor camshaft and crankshaft I'm trying to get car ready for smog only thing that's stopping me is the catalytic is not ready, please help

    Hello, thank you for your amazing video my question is i have a c200 kompressor my car problem is when i turn on the car the kompressor doesn’t work but when i turn off the car and turn it on again the kompressor work perfect. The problem is not in the boost of the kompressor the problem is that the kompressor is not working till i turn off the car and turn it on again

      The Kompressor is attached to the belt. It´s impossible that it can torn off or on. Its always on. Your porblem has to do with eather the throttle body or some boost control. Or you are talking about the AC compressor?

    i'm getting a P0045 and P0046 error together with P0420 too.... Any advise on steps i should take to troubleshoot and also possible parts to replace? The supercharger would intermittenly stop working, but usually start working again when i off and restart the car. I'm on a W204 C180 Kompressor

      check the ECU cables directly on the ECU. If the connection is full of oil then it will destroy the ECU and make errors. The oil comes from the 2 circular magnets in front of the engine block. They have each one connector. Check them both for oil inside. This oil can go slowly to the ECU.

    I have a fault code stating I should check air intake vacuum engine !?
    3539 the boosts pressure deviates from the specified value (engine control module SIM271KE20 for consumption engine N3/10
    Another fault is overhead control panel N70
    Steering column module N80
    DCU

    If possible can we have a little more information about the MAP sensor that appears at 2:16? because there is no pipe connected to MAP sensor, look at the map sensor that connects to nothing, why?

      It sits outside the front chamber of the air filter housing. It has to measure the pre-air filter air pressure which is more or less the environmental air pressure.

      If not mistaken MAP sensor attached location is just after the air throttle valve body. This allow measurement of air pressure going toward air intake manifold - from as low as -11psi and upward to +7.5psi for the 1.8 litre supercharged engine rated for 163hp. The other pressure sensor, if any, should be for taking barometric pressure.

    Hello. On my C180k, the tube that fits into the throttle valve jumped catastrophically at 5500 rpm because the clamp broke... :/ Unfortunately it caused damage to some part. Engine fails at cold idle and cold throttle. When it warms up it improves, but it continues to fail when I press the accelerator lightly. There is no loss of power at "full power" acceleration. What's your opinion? What could be damaged when the tube came loose?

      All vacuum hose is good and not leak ? usually idle issue were cause by the leak vacuum and pcv valve.

      When vacuum hoses failed it will disturb greatly the fuel air mixture ratio especially during low rpm. At very high rpm the disturbance to air fuel ratio is much less so the engine rpm become stable. So just having broken or disconnected vacuum hose broken will not damage the engine.
      I have a generic OBD2 showing my 1.8 litre M271 engine at 750rpm at -7.35psi MAP in early morning & 2 minutes after starting up and air cond put to ON it will draw in air at 4.7g/second. At nearly -2psi MAP at 2000rpm, 85km/hr using cruise control on flat road my OBD2 is showing MAF of 17 to 18g/second. On steep hill MAP show 25g/second while leaving auto cruise ON. MAP at +5psi still at 2000rpm.

    I have an issue related to your video. The raves on the vehicle do not synchronize with the gears, the mechanic insists that the exhaust pipe is blocked...
    Could it be true. Plugs and ATF have already been replaced and the raves are still not in harmony with the gears. The engine is intact and no vibrations, what is your take?

    I am having a problem with my W203 M271 engine. The 1st spark plug has been stuck and all i replace are the remaining 3. How do I remove the stuck spark plug without damaging anything on the head. My cars performance gets affected as sometimes when I press down the accelerator the car has a rough idle and engine surging.

      Often engine oil can get into the plug recesses because of weak valve cover gaskets or flowing down from the oil cap in case of plug no 1. The oil will cause current leakage and "MISFIRE" or rough idle. It will not showup on the dash. Ensure all capacitors are dry and plug recesses clean.
      Take the vehicle to a machine shop and they should be able to remove the plug. The head may have to be removed.

    Buenas ,tengo un Mercedes c180k y tiene un problema de que en bajas ,tiene poca fuerza y le cuesta subir de revoluciones,por ejemplo cuando cambio de marcha se le nota ese problema,Gracias de antemano

      Olá, verifique a mangueira ante do corpo de borboleta. É uma mangueira pequena, comum romper. O veículo não acende a luz de injeção. Boa sorte.

    I have a C180 2006 w203 merceedes that shows two fault codes, P0171 system too lean bank 1 and P2020 intake manifold possition sensor swich circuit range&performance bank 2. The car has rough idle with flactuating rpm, and positive fuel trims of upto 20% at idle, however the fuel trims get better and even gets closer to zero 0 (4 to 0) as I drive faster above 60kph, car runs smoother at faster speeds. I have tried disconnecting the MAF and it seems my fuel trims get better at idle , maf shows 2,8g/s at idle so I dont know if that is the cause. Please help me

      It seems like it would be the whole engine breathe hose with the pcv valve. Replace the whole thing. There a re two hoses in total.

    I have 2006 c180 kompressor. Was driving fine until one morning I started it and the revs wouldn't stay up.. then it stopped starting at all.. the diagnostic says engine misfire.. i put in new plugs and still same problem any ideas?

      Have you checked the fuel pump? In my experience, this problem could potentially be a Bad fuel pump or a bad ECM

      Crankshaft position sensor, or exhaust cam position sensor, inlet cam position sensor etc etc. What is the fault codes. See more videos on mercedes engine ad much as pisition. Hopefully it is not broken timing chain. Hope you share the findings or outcome. Regards.

    Dude 2002 c230 kompressors USA had the older M111 with a super charger o3 and onward used the engine you mention here. 2002 sedan models USA spec otherwise came with a 2.5 L v6 or 3.2 v6 the w203 coupe was the last model to deploy the M111. The M271 only made it into 2003 models and later. Rumor was the block was a dodge neon design with a Mitsubishi head accompanied by a Benz supercharger. Oh the Chrysler days FML … that engine was total hot garbage.
