Dave Meltzer only "bashes" AEW when it can't be covered up. If the photos or 80% empty AEW shows weren't online, he would never talk about it.
It really is as simple as, being friends with a billionaire can change your life. It’s why most super wealthy people lack self awareness.

British wrestling youtube channels are some of the biggest smarks on pro wrestling. The best thing about AEW is that it exposed those guys as people that don't know what they are talking about.

to this day, May 20th, AEW has been around for 5 years and I have yet to see Dave Meltzer spoil an AEW angle. Yet for WWE, he will come to your house personally to tell you who's going to be booked to win the MITB.

@@jackiejones3296it’s where Kenny talked about osprey when he was streaming and talked about meltzers star ratings. All Dave said was it’s a work, it’s technically not even a storyline on tv and unless Kenny actually can come back it never will be.
This is the guy who's never stepped foot in a ring, thinks no selling is normal, likes 100 false finishes, likes high flying reckless spots and thinks no psychology is excellent wrestling. I don't know why anyone would give him the time of day, he's not worth listening to. The Rock vs Hollywood Hogan at Wrestlemania 18 is still remembered to this day yet no one remembers any of the dream matches he rates in the last year.
I remember almost blow for blow TLC 2 at Wrestlemania 17 These AEW fans can't remember what happened in the match 30 seconds ago so wanting them to appreciate storytelling is a no go sadly.

AEW has low ratings, Dave claims “Well no one is watching TV anymore & the house numbers are irrelevant.” When they have a slight increase, Dave claims “Well this is a clear sign that things are going great” If he could at least admit his bias then I could have more respect for him.

Taking about low ticket sales for AEW isn't burying them. It's a problem that needs to be addressed . Unless you don't want them to succeed and would they ignore reality.
An awful lot of people aged 30 and under lived their entire lives just avoiding reality. They're like modern Dr who fans who think less people watching means it's more popular and you mentioning the low numbers and bad scripts makes you a hater/bigot/an ...ist/"you were never really a fan were you" type. Delusional people who will do the drastic self delete when reality smacks them.
All In was not a good show. Was it a big show? yes, it was massive but overall the card was bad because there was no storylines.
Wrestletalk and Whatculture are unlistenable anymore. I’m sure they’re next in line to get into the next AEW media scrum.

Anything is going to sell overseas and that’s because the fans rarely get big shows, hell if I lived there I would attend any show that came. If AEW could fill a stadium in the states then I would be impressed.
If adam cole had turned on mjf and won the title at all in . That story would have made sense . Instead we got the devil story line which made no sense .
Uncle Dave actually had negative criticism for AEW recently: If he has something bad to say about it, you KNOW they've hit the proverbial iceberg.

During the first year or so of AEW, I watched AEW show that I could, and rarely watched WWE. After Brawl Out, I started falling back. The entire aura of the company had changed. I just wasn't excited about it anymore. Then the shows kept getting worse. Despite being the only significant draw in the company, Punk was released to keep the PWG contingent happy, even though none of them can draw a dime. I pretty much gave up after that. The shows are awful. I have been watching wrestling for over 30 years. I've seen thousands of matches. Matches only matter to me if they are part of a good story with characters that i care about. Watching AEW is like missionary sex with no foreplay. It was fun at first, but got boring real quick.
Dave Meltzer is on the AEW payroll. Tony Khan has to pay people for AEW to get any praise, it's the only way it will happen.
