as a singer from northwestern ontario/lake of the woods...some of these songs are from this area...i hear what is referred to as the "bombardier song" which is from a stanjikoming first nation and another from whitedog/wabaseemong first nation....i share to the family from where they originated and are referred to as "dream songs"

No one tried harder than the Chippewa to please the white colonizers and it pains me to see how disrespected the honored women were by Oklahoma taking more than their shares. I hear the never dying healing in this song

I don't know about trying to please the white man my grandfathers lead many battles against the colonizers. I am 3 Fires, an there is a lot of history of the wars that took place around the great lakes as well as across the country between the tribes and the colonizers. Though some did fall prey to the ruse of the government and put through the ringer just as all tribes have at some point. Thanks for listening glad you enjoyed the album
