I particular like this commentary. I'm fully converted. I now remember Bert Cameron. He was favorite in the 400. He got injured in the semifinals. He paused, then finished the race and qualified for the final. That was the end of his promising career. He couldn't run in the final, nor in any other. A very enlightening article my sister

Why attack another person's opinion on a matter when it is not impossible for this to actually happen. Even if Lyston herself comes out and denies it she could have a change of mind in future and represent another country. There is always a possibility so Tracey's comments are not out of the realm of possibilities. One has to admit that her decision is suprising, especially since she has not announced that the injury was season ending. Hell she ran through it for a season with good results and would have some time to rest before Paris.
Did you watch her 200m semi-finals? Did you see how heavily strapped she was for the 100m finals? Did you see how she grimaced after every race? The young lady is injured and cannot continue for the season.
@@barrylloyd5864 Based on what I saw, the injuries don't appear to be such that it or they prevented her from competing and still doing extremely well for her school. She has never said she is so injured that she can't run. She just decided to not compete anymore this season, which she can decide to do. But no real explanation was given for the decision, no coach's advice, too tired or badly injured,.... nothing. And she would have had some time at least to rest a bit before Paris.

I’m American and it’s been so sad to witness how the Jamaicans have been so hard on Lyston when she was clearly dealing with a leg injury. She’s young and has time. Health should come first

T one doesn’t have to study anything once an athlete is injured they should sit out, get well and come again. All we do as fans is sit in our living rooms with popcorn and wine with legs up and cheering go Jamaica you better win!! Pleaseee tell me Jamaicans are not truly upset when their own pick up a little accent in the states. Alot of athletes around the world go to college in the U.S and get tremendous strength, conditioning, and technical training; its a good thing. Track fans in general are too one track minded, and thats holding the sport back.

Brianna clearly has injury issues which needs to be carefully managed. I think that's what this is all about. Right now the competition to make the USA female sprint team is harder than Jamaica so i don't believe that's where this is going.
