- RIP Toyota Corolla (Flew 350' down steep hill). Alex is going to be super fit at the rate he's doing these car fishing jobs LOL. We got this job for a Toyota Corolla, that came in as 250' over the side at our special spot on Angeles Crest Highway. Thankfully we carry extra rope in our rotators, because this car was closer to 350'.
After some fun hiking and easy quick rigging using BA car straps, Alex hiked back up the hill and started to winch the vehicle back up the hill. Once the main boom line was close to being fully retracted, he walked down the other cable to attach to the car so he can get rid of the slack from the synthetic extension.
Now that the car was successfully winched to the top, Alex did a 4 part pick to lift the entire car and swing directly onto Vicente's flatbed for safe and easy transport back to the yard. What did you guys think of this "fishing" trip?

You should get yourself a rangefinder like what they use in golf. It may help you calculate the range from the top of the hill to the car..
Went down looking like a Toyota, came back up looking like a VW Bug. Great recovery.
And I thought it was a compact.
Oh Look Alex! They made their Toyota into a VW Bug!! And the driver wasn't hurt, darn miracle!
If necessary, you have the option to earn your money as a circus artist.
The ease with which you make such a descent is admirable.
Thanks for this video.
I couldn't help but bust out laughing when the drone crashed. Funny, not funny. Drones aren't cheap. Great job on the recovery. 👍 Watching from SW Louisiana. I work for a tow company with 2 rollbacks in its fleet. While we may be a small company, the recovery work is just as difficult at times, especially, with burned up rollovers. I may do the paperwork in the office, but the drivers tell me stories about the difficulty. They are not all easy peasy like people may think. 🙏
I love these fishing trips. Thanks Alex and Josh.
Alex has been getting on Josh's fishing trips here lately. Good job Alex getting it brought up and on the truck!
I didn't know there were any spots on these trucks that aren't clean, but now I see the dirty spot is the top of the boom. :)
Aloha Alex. Thank you for your always professional and informative comments and videos. I really ok forward to your videos. You are a fantastic professional representative for Pepe’s Towing. They are lucky to have you.
Alex, I know others have said this but I think you and Josh would benefit from some rock climbing classes. Take the whole family, they're great for kids too. Being able to repel down and ascend back up could be pretty beneficial with some of these recoveries, like the bridge one. It's great cardio and a ton of fun, and super addictive (in a good way).
Penalty for ditching a car down those slopes should be for the driver to have to go back and pick up the trash including the car parts. Seems only fair to the countryside to clean it up.
What if they had a medical emergency? Or a tire blowout? Why should they be responsible? They could’ve lost their life.
you don't drive a car off a cliff and just leave.@@TheOneAndOnlyKotaFamily
@@bojan1999how do you know they just left? How do you know they weren’t flight for life out? If you have more info on this, you should post it
Wow...being disabled I appreciate you showing the climb... Always impressed with your knowledge of recovery techniques and skills plus your content
Another awesome job Alex. And props to Josh for all the hard work editing these videos and keeping up a steady stream of releases.
Alex, you definitely got your aerobic points in today!
PS - Amazing that someone can survive such a violent crash! Good engineering.
Another VERY cool car "fishing" job!! Good job Alex and Vicente!! Made it look easy!!
Alex, Sorry about your drone. That is an essential part of these videos! I really appreciate all the drone footage. I take for granted how seamlessly the video is put together with the drone footage and various camera angles! I hope you got a new drone. It makes the videos top-notch in my opinion!
We have Hulk...now we have a real live Tarzan. Another great job Alex and Vinciente
Balls of steel this guy to do this recovery!
Good afternoon from Southeast South Dakota
I enjoyed the video very much. Alex provides good narration and excellant video. Sorry about the drone. It is always amazing to see the damage to the car and then see that the cabin provides driver safety, I can only imagine what work is envolved in stitching the video together. Fantastic effort for you both!
You guys have to get one of those jet packs so you can fly down to the car hook it up and fly back up to the rotator.
Then we wouldn’t get cardio 😂
Alex is a true "rock star" pro, nice job.
JESUS. 🖐️👍🇪🇦💪

I love to watch PEPE'S towing y'all are so talented stay safe 🙏✌️💯
Good workout for you Alex, that hill was steep, good work man.
❤"my guy,6,p's..proper planning prevents piss poor performance...😊gr8 reco..Hola chenté
The amazing thing thing is the drone landed in the compartment of the rig!!
Alex needs to invest in a rappelling vest if he keeps doing these jobs. Maybe even take a course.
You guys have a very unique kind of fishing license issued by the CHP!
36:36 let's not assume we know how or why he went down the hill
We don't, i fell asleep once and went into a ditch sober.
I can't see how he walked up that big hill on such a steep grade
And I'd be afraid of snakes, one wrong hand placement your bitten
And to do it twice. Very hard worker
Alex another awesome job! You guys really get a workout retrieving cars! Thanks for sharing! Kevin
The spiky bushes are Chaparral Whitethorn. The bugs are Buffalo Flies
Just seen my first video of your channel where the orange rig was stuck so now i just found my new favorite yt channel.
Is good. Hell of a good job. You kinda have to watch out for those spiders, snakes, and the deadly Yuka trees.
UnHoly Fling Corolla Batman Pepe
handled like as true professional Alex, as always....you guys work sure hard for your money👍👍love watching you, Josh and Dave😃
That was one more steep, more than steep mountain climbing. Great recovery.
That one ain't gonna buff out too great.
Long way down and a long way back up.
another great job Alex....that will keep you fit....:-)
Big flipper Can do wheelie? Cool. Great job
I must have missed you rolling that truck was on its roof and I blink my eyes and it rolled over to its Wheels another job well done Alex you are the man in recovery God bless stay safe have a nice Thanksgiving and a merry Christmas to your whole crew much love keep them coming Alex.❤❤
Alex, there are ladies here, too ;)
👊 to Alex awesome job as always. Thank you Josh for taking what little amount of time you do have to edit the videos to post. One question though how many times would you have fallen going up or down the hill? 🤔😆
To the lady driving the truck💯💯💯💯💯
Be careful picking that car out I don't want you to scratch the paint job it looks brand new LoL 😂😂😂 by the way say hello to papi chulo JOE ❤️
You made it look easy as usual. Great job! 👍👍
Alex, love your video's! Your dedication to safety and caution for yourself. Thank You Sir and Big Flipper! Enjoy each of them.
Car recovery and a drone recovery all in one😂
Josh and Alex be careful you never know where the Rattler's are. And watch for falling rocks or slippery sand
You always seem to get these "fun" jobs.
Outstanding video PEPE prep rigging'recovery
I just applied for Pepes Towing over here in Colton. Hopefully I can get on the team and do some cool stuff like this
Another amazing recovery. Great job guys
You would think people would be a little more considerable about where they crash!! 😂😂 Great job Alex! ❤
Yeah, that car's owner didn't think much about the poor thing, probably driving too fast.
Hang on, ironic or a sign? Got me revved up at 6am on Sunday morning getting ready to deliver a snow plow on my day off. Thanks.
Excellent work! I thoroughly enjoy these videos.
Thank you . Awesome Video
Nice Alex!
That looks like another Angelus Crest highway crash. I think those little bugs that you are worried about Alex are little Nats. They like to fly up your nose. I was getting a little worried about you going down that hill that maybe the zopilotes might find you down there. Maybe that's why the drone crashed it thought one was after it. No worries though you could catch one and cook it for Thanksgiving. Another good job senor. You do very good work.
Great job Alex!
Bravo . Bien maîtrisé. Excellent.
Another successful job thank you for sharing😅
Great job Alex
Hey Alex u should get a Golf rangefinder and it's like a measuring device to see how far the hole is
Be nice if the drone has some kind of reading to where you can tell how far it is down there
That spot looks familiar
Looks like the poor car had a layer of bidybputyy from previous repairs. I don't think that will buff out this time
That's one way to make a Volkswagen.
nice. recovery
I'll bet that Corolla still runs!
It looks like a 1930’s Volkswagen, squashed in the rear& front
looks like a old Volkswagen
Dam good and safe job soak the cs good.
sorry...I meant to say you work very hard 😁
Looks like cars are doing donuts and launching over the side . Something needs to change. Uve been here a few times before
How did anyone survive that “RIP Toyota Corolla?”
The world would be a bit better place if you guys would bring up the trash and car parts that you find (within reason) down in these ravines. I've seen Alex put parts in these cars before he winched them up in the past.
Do you have any idea how long that would take?
The Forestry Service takes care of the trash..
🤙
California drivers seem to love flying...for a bit.
Yep
Is that your Dad working with you. If so I give him lots of credit for doing that kind of work. I used to own a towing company and i know how physically demanding it can be.
Another person joining the Pepe's frequent flyer fishing club.
'Fly off the cliff 3 times, get fished up the 4'th time at a 30% discount! sign up by 30'th of November!'
😂😂
Those other companies that turn down
recoveries aren’t the ones that I wouldn’t
call for anything. It means that those
companies don’t have the personnel
to do anything other than change tires or
simple tow jobs
Do you have to watch for snakes and scorpions when dealing with the brush there?
Speed and curves don't mix
maybe you need kevlar coveralls?!
Usually what happens when drinking and driving
The chains you used to connect to the cars frame do they have some sort of locking mechanism to stop them falling out ?
Wouldn't it be easier to get a bench to pull you back up the side of the cliff. Coming up is way more physically taxing than going down. I'm just thinking. You have the technology.
Dang, Alex throwing some shade on Ron?
When? I edit every video myself, unless there’s footage in here only you have access to
@@PepesTowingService he commented about using the suspension mounting points rather than running a strap through the windows as some other companies do. 19:35. I happen to also watch Ron's channel and I've seen him do the strap through the windows method. To his credit, Alex didn't name him specifically, but he was the first one I thought of when I heard the comment
I can tell you right now if Ron is doing that, he isn’t the first or alone lol unfortunately it’s what a ton of people do
Ron has switched to picking cars up by the wheels, but if the vehicle is submerged in mud or deep water he will use straps through the windows until he can rerig
Alex you always do a great job, but when you do this kind of recovery you desend on a rope that's not fit for purpose. When you need to asend its not easy. You need the proper rope with what they call a asender for your safety, please you and josh look into it, its very simple. Stay safe.
I think it would be cool if you put a
rock climbing wall somewhere in your yard 😂😂😂😂
How come you don't use the cable (tight tension) to walk yourself back up? Also, a 2way radio should be on the shopping list. Just in case...
Can you extend two primary cables and leave one at the extension point, so it remains our when the first is fully re you could then. Bring in the secondary and save the extra trip ?
Ya
I thought they didn’t even recover cars over cliffs in California
Gauging the distance do you guys use any golf or hunting range finders?
