  • The Nikon (Nikkor) 55mm 1.2 is the second lens in a line up four, which I borrowed from my friend Hans de Graaf from the Fotovakhuis in Haarlem to use on his Nikon F2. This version was manufactured in 1972 as a non-a.i. lens and later adapted. Great build quality and useful in low light situations albeit a little soft and low contrast wide open. But at a second hand retail price of USD 300-400in my opinion a relatively affordable lens which gives a lot of bang for your buck!

    Well done! And what a coincidence to have Max Verstappen in the picture when this video was uploaded... just as he became world champion today!

    Reducing the ISO to 250 improved the grain in the photos. Looks better than when you shot a ISO400.

    Loved all of your interesting photos at the end but that apartment shot at 7:35 is something else.

    I just obtained this exact lens and I think that it is a later version of the lens. I had to get it from a dealer in Japan. It is in top quality shape. I can’t remember the cost, maybe Canadian $ 500 + import duties, tax and shipping. I will try it out this month. Nice video. Thank you. RS. Canada

    Nice shots! The 'thumbnail' picture you chose for this video is my favorite: the building in the mist framed by two other buildings. I always enjoy that kind of beauty found in otherwise 'ugly' scenery. The zone system approach also helps the photos. Are you gonna calibrate your favorite film body's? That journey might make nice informative videos also.

    I like the idea of this lens for street. Stop down for added depth of field mostly. But also have the ability to open up for something special. I wonder if these non ai lenses work in the F3 ?

    So where is your trial with Steve Mc Curry's 105mm F2.5? I can't find that.

    what is a distortion of that lense?

      Nobody cares... it is just a beautiful lens...

      @@fretlessfender LOL. I will not take the lense even for free if distortion is more than 0.35

    • @fretlessfender
      @fretlessfender Před 10 měsíci

      @TheVengord that is limiting yourself from a lot of nice lenses! It doesn't say anything about the picture... a human eye has more distortion than 0,35% and still we use them everyday...
      It is just a matter of importance...
