I doubled a hard 19 once, on purpose. Double deck hand deal table and the dealer accidently flipped the next card face up on his hand. It was a 2. Of course I'm going to double when I know what the next card is.

Please don't be offended Brandon, but the way you play blackjack reminds me of the following: I was watching play at a High Stakes Blackjack table in the casino in Sun City, Southern Africa, many years ago. There was a lady at the table who plays much the same as you do! I was happy to be sitting out! A good friend of mine, Stan, who was getting more and more frustrated with this lady's play, asked her how high her winnings would have to be for her to be happy enough to leave the table. She looked a little confused, but Stan pressed her until she said: "R5,000!" ("R"=Rand) Stan carefully counted out R5,000, and gave it to her! She left the table, I took her seat, and we all lived happily ever after!
Was playing a progressive BJ today, 1st hand I bet 5, and 5 on the light new shoe, I get ace queen clubs, dealer has Ace club up, checks for BJ has queen of clubs, $7,993 on a fiver bet woo hoo.
No matter how much we say it, He never adds a hand when the tables turn. In the words of my grandma, you can lead a horse to the water, but you can't make him drink it. 😂
