I Flippin looove whitefish! Yum! Best fish to eat hands down! I'm in Upper Michigan... biggest whitefish for me was when I was like 10 or 11 years old... I caught a 7 ½ pound Whitefish... glad I have a picture of that monster❤ SO much fun! Stay warm & tight lines🤘🤘 I'm still waiting for ice to get here! Stay safe😊
Michigander here, too! I agree- whitefish are incredible- hard fighter, delicious table fare. We don’t have them anywhere near where I live but I’ve got a spot on Drummond Island and when the mayflies hatch it’s one of the best times someone can have fishing!

diawa reels yeah - Tatulas are good when its warmer but freeze when its cold - March fishing is pretty forgiving so you can get away with any reel. Diawas are way more durable than shimano we have found.

forsure! out of Washburn and Bayfield Wisconsin you can walk out and catch Whitefish.

Smoked whitefish was what I grew up on in Minnesota...never tried them any other way.
