If it bounces on the way to the boundary its 4 runs, if it goes past the boundary in the air (like a home run in baseball), its 6 runs. Of course you can take single runs running between the wickets. FYI.

19:05 good question. I THINK it's because the fielder sees the ball getting away from him and still gaining speed and it's close to the boundary so he just stops chasing, especially when the ball is new, also he may be bowling the next over and doesn't wanna get gased out, maybe

It’s very important to chase the ball but why the fielders don’t sprint sometimes is for various reasons. Mostly the ball is hit very hard and fast so the fielders give the chase up early cause there’s no point, or there may be another fielder who can get to it quicker. they can anticipate it but blunders do happen at times. Cricketers have many roles in a team so they also avoid unnecessary injuries.
Thanks for teaching us a bit about the sport! It was our very first game so we didn’t know much. In Scotland we are absolutely rubbish at cricket so it doesn’t get much attention 😂 thanks for watching!
