Here's Xuefei Yang playing "Zambra Mora" by Juan Martin on a gorgeous 1925 Domingo Esteso flamenco guitar from the Russell Cleveland collection, with spruce top and cypress back and sides. Recorded at the Guitar Salon International showroom in Santa Monica, CA.

Besides target shooting and hunting, love guitar. Flamenco’s great for synchronizing the L/R hands. Good for economizing finger movements and planting. A well played piece to me is like a perfectly placed shot!
With each new performance my respect increases towards "Xuefei Yang". Please more videos.
What makes this video more important is that "Juan Martín" is very rarely played by professional guitarists, though he is a very good composer.

Brava Maestra- the Esteso plays like a cannon. The bass/treble/overtones jump right out at you, although I noticed the high E on the first string 12th fret is less defined when either plucked or strummed compared to the G, A or B notes in lower frets. Could have been a moment in time, the string itself, but appeared to be consistent. Kudos to the luthier who has maintained/restored this beautiful guitar...

Wow ... sounds so good! And that guitar from 1925! What is interesting is it has golpeadors like a Flamenco guitar (I don't know the details of this particular guitar and if it was meant as a Flamenco or if there was such a huge division between Flamenco and "classical" guitars so much at that time) but they are apparently very thin wood flamed maple ones! How can I get thin flamed maple and not clear plastic golpeadors ! She's definitely playing it with some Flamenco aspects (the CEJILLA [ capo] at that spot is typical ). I'll have to look up this composer (Juan Martin) I suppose
That "flamenco" aspect is what I saw at first moment.

Spruce/cypress is the best combination in my opinion. More classical guitarists should experiment with the combination. Especially if they play a lot of Spanish and Latin rep.
