    In case you're curious how I found this, it was actually by accident. I'd seen random stuff floating around through space occasionally but had no idea where it came from. Then one day I was messing around with the "inspector" in the "sandbox utilities" mod, just scrolling through all the different assets in the space rig, and I saw "trash compactor." I didn't know what it was so I went over to where its coordinates were, and there was nothing there, but then I saw the trash emerging from below and I finally realized what it was. I really do think that it's probably the most hidden aspect of the space rig, since there's literally no visible sign that it's there until you walk up to it and trigger the trash to spawn.

    • @MusNothus
      @MusNothus Před 6 dny +2

      FYI, @tylerrusnak pointed out that they were able to get it to trigger more successfully when standing about a foot back from the left side of the yellow trapezoid on the window.
      The way I found the location I showed in the video was by finding the coordinates of the trash compactor trigger box in sandbox utilities, then setting my dwarf to those exact coordinates, and I've checked again in season 5 and that location hasn't changed. However, when testing again just now, I found I was able to trigger the trash compactor all the way from the left side of the left metal beam to the right side of the yellow trapezoid, which would place the center around the left side of the yellow trapezoid, so I guess the trigger box must have a lopsided shape or something.

    You missed the most important thing: There is a chance to see Doretta's head coming out of the trash compactor. That's what they do with her head when we bring her back. They throw it back out into space.

The location I showed in the video is the exact location of the trigger box's coordinates in the sandbox utilities inspector (I found those coordinates and then used sandbox utilities to move my dwarf to that exact location and then took the video) so it should be the exact center of the trigger box, and I double checked just now and that location hasn't changed. But the trigger box must be an odd shape or something, because you're right that when I tested again just now I could get it to trigger all the way from the left side of the left beam of that window panel to the right side of the yellow trapezoid, which would put the center closer to where you described. A dwarf can only hope.
      Speaking of which, if you haven't checked it out yet, switch your game to season 1 or 2 (I think either works) and check out the space rig. The developers custom decorated the space rig with rival tech stuff and it looks really cool.

      @MusNothus huh, I never knew about it at over 1k hours in. The only other indication was some post on reddit last week about dorettas head but I didn't know what the in game pic was trying to show and was unsure if it was a mod. It's very well hidden. Thanks for showing me!

      @@tylerrusnak7736 Ohhh I was wondering why a bunch of people were mentioning Doretta because I didn't think I'd ever seen her head come out the trash compactor when I was filming this, but that's probably because I actually filmed this awhile back in season 4 and they did add several new things to the trash compactor in season 5 like the arcade cabinet and I guess it seems like Doretta's head too.

      I suppose so, but they're throwing out some good stuff, because in season 5 now there's a chance for an arcade machine to appear

      I was initially worried about that, but I legitimately do think it's the space rig's biggest secret. Does the space rig have any bigger secret than this?

      @@MusNothus what is in the fridge and why was it locked

    • @MusNothus
      @MusNothus Před 17 dny +2

      @mraziiczech That's an interesting question, but I don't think it has an answer (I've even used the free cam to look inside the fridge and there's nothing inside it), so there's no actual "secret" that exists there. Of the secrets that actually exist (i.e., secrets the developers actually created and hid in the space rig), I do feel like the trash compactor is the biggest one. I'm sorry if you feel clickbaited, though; this discovery certainly blew me away!
