    Poland's history is truly unique in the world; a country that suffered massive destruction during World War II, then was enslaved for almost 50 years by the Soviet Union, and even before that was divided by 3 partitioners - Russia, Austria and Prussia (Germany) rose like a phoenix from the ashes and is now one of the fastest growing economies in the world. Coming to Poland, the first thing you will notice is that nowhere in Europe is so much construction going on. Cities are changing year by year, huge public and private investments are being made, and what's more, the country is a truly beautiful and safe place to live. Cities are bustling with life and the focus on innovation, business and development in society is huge - at the same time privacy, family values and time after work are highly respected. This is a country where innovation is thriving while history and tradition are respected. I'm Polish, I've lived and worked abroad for many years (including England, Belgium, Nethrlands and US), I've come back and I don't recognize Poland myself - over the last 10-15 years the country has undergone a transformation unparalleled in the world.

      Thank you for spreading love to Poland. We would be more positive if we would believe this is a good place to live or at least.. be objective and stop complain to everything.👏

    This is an insightful presentation! The video "Cloud resilience and innovation lessons from Poland | Cloud Cultures" by Microsoft provides a valuable perspective on cloud technology and its application in Poland. It's truly inspiring to see how Poland is harnessing cloud resilience for innovation.
    Poland's approach to cloud technology can serve as a great example for others. Not only do we have incredible natural beauty and resources, but we also have a tech-savvy population that's eager to learn and innovate. As the video highlights, the synergy between cloud solutions and the Polish landscape is a unique breeding ground for creative ideas.
    In the context of this video, it's important to emphasize the value of learning from English-language tutorials and guides. This accessibility to global knowledge and best practices is key to furthering innovation in Poland and beyond. It's encouraging to see how Poles are embracing this opportunity to expand their skills and capabilities.
    I'm excited to witness Poland's journey toward becoming a hub for cloud innovation and resilience. This video from Microsoft is an excellent resource, and I'm looking forward to more lessons and success stories from this dynamic ecosystem.

    Since the 1990's Poland's economy has been among the fastest in the world and in Europe well before it joined the European Union in 2001. According to the most current IMF estimates, Poland is on track to become wealthier than the UK by 2030 but will also overtake every G7 nation except the US by 2040.

    • @krowaswieta7944
      @krowaswieta7944 Před rokem +30

      Thats false af. Even if Poland keeps 4% growth and UK stays at 0% every year, were not gonna overtake UK (or France; France loses its growth potential every year) in 7 years in GDP per capita... Poland needs around 20 years of constant growth at around 4-5% with UK's 0% to catch up in GDP per capita.
      But sure, in ppp (so gdp per capita adjusted to living costs), we can catch up in like 10 years.
      And OBVIOUSLY, Poland isnt even close to Germany and its estimated that the soonest we could come close to them would be in around 2060. Thats a f**ing 40 years mate.
      Ofc were also far behind Canada or Australia. I wont even bother to name countries such as Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland or Norway.
      I feel like we, Poles, got kinda delusional because of pretty fast compared to western Europe growth. And still Czechia has like 10-15% higher GDP ppp per capita.

      @@krowaswieta7944 These are not false statements. It is about the forecasts of the World Bank and the most important criterion of the wealth of a given country, which is GDP per capita after taking into account the purchasing power parity (PPP). Currently, Poland's GDP PPP per capita is £28,200 compared to £35,000 in the UK, £34,200 in France and £39,800 in Germany; at the current growth rate, Poland will overtake Great Britain by 2030. In 2023, GDP per capita in Poland in purchasing power standard will be 85% of the EU average. Interestingly, since the beginning of the 21st century, Poland's real GDP per capita has more than doubled (over 100%); by comparison, GDP PPP per capita in the UK, France and Germany increased by 15-24% over the same period. And it is worth remembering that in 2001 (Poland joined the EU in 2004), Poland did not start from a very low level, it had over a decade of extremely rapid growth since 1989.

      @@alh6255 Well, in 1991 Polish gdp ppp was around 6k dollars per capita in fact. Today its 38k. Thats what communism (and bound to it corruption) leads to.
      But i mean, France has stagnation for over a decade and UK is trolling itself (with Boris or May, with questionable decisions regarding its economy etc.). It will change imo.
      Germany on the other hand has stabile economical growth with relatively low prices. Its naive to believe that we could reduce the 40% difference to 0 in only 17 years or something .
      The fact is though the very same kind of clowns that made France fallen power and UK pupulist paradise is in charge in Poland now. So i dont believe that we will keep 4-5% growth rate with all of those extensive social programs and overwhelming political corruption (like giving people who sympathise with goverment lucrative jobs in national companies or buying election votes with the promisses of new social programs and stuff).

      @times4937 Před rokem +6

      If you try to illustrate this phenomenon, it is best to do it on the example of climbing Mount Everest. In 1990, Poland stood at the foot of Mount Everest, and highly developed economies stood at an altitude of 8,000 meters. The first 6,000 meters of climbing can be covered by running, without any physical preparation, the real climbing starts above 6,000 meters, this is the so-called base effect. In order to catch up with highly developed countries, you need to create your own thriving large R&D sector. To become rich, it is not enough to work in a factory, you need to be the owner of factories, i.e.( capital, technology and know-how). Poland as a country and society has a very low level of national net wealth, converting nominal GDP to PPP GDP will not change this situation because a dollar is a dollar, no one in the world is interested that a dollar is worth more in Poland than in the USA, if you want to buy innovative technology, take investment loan or hire an outstanding specialist, you will not convince him with the argument that in Poland you can buy bread for one dollar, this is such a digression regarding the use of the purchasing power parity argument in areas where this conversion factor has no meaning. By the way, GDP is not used to compare countries, but the dynamics and direction. It is the internet illiterates who create GDP rankings because they do not understand the purpose for which this indicator was created.

W skrócie główne plusy i minusy:

    Well. after communism polish society has a real hunger for innovation and optimization. the country has no choice but to enable and reflect that fact. There is a stereotype that we like to complain, and it's true, but it's a direct representation of the fact that we will only compare ourselves with the best, and we want to be that. With very mixed results for now, but we're getting there, and I'm hopeful that someday others will be comparing themselves to us.
