  • In this Photoshop tutorial I want to show you an easy way of adding realistic looking light rays to your forest photos. If you want to apply this effect to one of your images, make sure to download the custom brush here: de.brusheezy.com/bursten/6171...
Keep in mind this doesn't work with every image. You want to have a forest shot with spots of bright highlights were the sunlight is actually coming through.
Once you have your picture opened in Photoshop, create a new layer and choose a brush from the ones you just downloaded. This brush has to fit the light-angle of your photo, otherwise it will look unnatural (you can distort the brush layer slightly to fit the light angle). Then carefully brush in one ore two times so the light rays roughly hit bright spots in your image. The final step is to brush out objects (like trees) from the light rays, to give everything a 3D-effect making it look more natural

keep going, you do good video, i think we should have a ray going in front of the middle tree to the right tree, just my opinion, did you try different blend mode also ?

Thank you for the comment Jeremy! I did play around with different modes, for me it was just hard to find usable ones :-)

    1. is it possible to make 100% transparent brush (Star effect and other effects within brush tool) - for some reason it doesn't work for me, it makes it only partially transparent... i show in video attached
    2. how to change one color the quickest way within image if I have two color, for example I want only to change red (I have red & black) to yellow? i show in video attached
