I love it too but i just noticed something that kinda pisses me off, the cutout part of the chorus. Like I wanted to sing the relaxing part in my head wile o hold whole note but nah they shorted the lead up. Still a good stand tune just it just hides it's derpy-ness too well.

Edit: got notifications for this comment and I can’t believe 5 years have passed..I’m now 3 years out of high school but still check in with my old band mates and the new band kids every now and then as an alumni, and they are still playing this song along with lots of other new music. It really brings me back and I’m glad to have been a part of marching band, it taught me a lot of things. Didn’t mean to get sentimental or anything, I’m just still in awe over this comment being half a decade old 😂

Played this for drill team one year. I was the only horn who could play the cool part right, and our trumpet section is very small, so it wound up being a solo for me. I cranked on that mellophone every time! It was a fun part!

every time I play this I cant help but blast the trombone part as loud as possible
Favorite song we're doing this year for mb but why is every single G flat ? My part has no Gs at all but couldn't the arranger just put another flat in the key? It seems like its designed to be in B flat minor because it ends on that chord/note and B flat minor is five flats...
PlatinumMinecraft so composers will sometimes (half of the time, usually) write a song in one key, but it's really in another key (usually, the other key will be a minor not relative to the given major) which actually is pretty common, and sometimes is used because the melody line is in the key but the backgrounds aren't, the composer wanted to make it "easier" on the players, so notes that are uncommon for middle school/high school band players aren't just in the key for them to remember (even though they could write it in but you get what i mean) or they probably just felt like writing it like that tbh. aside from that i'm so jealous you're playing this i've been wanting to play it forever but we're playing a michael jackson show instead
