You guys never got the heats from original RW - you had rounds before the battles took place to test robots in a variety of ways so you had a favourite and backed them through the show then the battles took place and you was hyped for them and knew the bots by then

Intentionally trapping the opponents spinner on not one but two occasions was pretty insane.
Normally it's against the rules...
@@natejackorjillkate4136 i think because it was an unexpected byproduct of the airbag, they were allowed to have it in.
but yeah if you bring a net for this reason it's a rule breaker.
@@natejackorjillkate4136 It depends on the **intent**. If you bring something that is specifically designed to entangle, it's banned. However, if it's unexpected entanglement, then it's not against the rules. Lil' Rip actually managed to break free of entanglement after the first instance, which was pretty amazing.
@@Iain16 They literally told the driver to entangle the opponents weapon with it. They knew it would foul the weapon and then intentionally fouled the weapon.

the airbag bot is actually pretty smart.
I unfortunately think it would be counted as an entanglement device, and thus not be allowed in a "serious" bot

Well so far they are their best performing videos in a while so I can see it.
To be honest, if Micha put all his video ideas into one robot. We would be in deep trouble. From laser burning eyes, to a shredder for garbage opponent robot ideas. As well as all taser related mayhem in between.

Disabling the opponent's weapon by clogging it with an airbag is hilarious and genuinely a good tactic. It only really works with spinners probably, but still.
I think NHRL has some rules against entanglement-based weapons, though with everything that happened in this video i'm not so sure how strict those rules are.
@@sbilldmilkthe airbag is a valid weapon. In regards to entanglement - designs that are clearly intended to entangle are not allowed (and the airbag doesn't count as intended to entangle). However, there can be situations where entanglement can occur that is outside of anyone's control and isn't the intent.
Also as far as I can tell, they weren't really subject to any strict rule enforcement in these matches. They were invited to be essentially a comedy act.

I had the pleasure of being the guy who got to assemble and wire up the drive base. As ever just not enough space inside (thanks Aren) but it was great to see the havoc they were able to build on top of it.
That drive base is an absolute beast, great work man
3 wins, from 2 joke robots and a 1-shot flipper, because of the drive.
The driver gets credit as well, and the weight class seems... is it a fair fight? If yes then you killed it.
@@davidwilson6577 they were allowed a higher weight than normal due to having unusual [ineffective] weapons
@@gemhunter498 yeah, but that has significant implications about the drive. It's probably the most important part of robot combat, so their bots winning isn't such a shock. They still took hits and kept going, they still performed really well.

I get that this whole thing was a comedy bit and in no universe did they win the first two matches, but that third match was unironically a victory.
Unrioniclly, I know for a fact that William Osman has a REAL battle bot.
He bought Red DEvil and was also a safety inspector for Battlebots
We haven't seen that thing in quite a while, at least a year. It hasn't shown up in the background of any videos, either. I'm not sure he still has it.

Nhrl is very different, battlebots takes it very seriously which is cringe imo
I was not expecting the last fight to be so legit and awesome.
I was literally thinking if someone made a robot with foam walls with tough string or fabric atuffed behind them, could cause some damage to spinners but then later in the video shows how well that airbag fabric worked for such a thing.
