- Parliament's Police Portfolio Committee sat for the first time on Wednesday, in the seventh administration of Parliament. New DA MP, Ian Cameron, was elected as chairperson of the committee after his election, the police top brass, who were also attending the meeting, committed to work alongside the committee in fighting crime in the country.

This is one public safety activist I respect, irrespective of my differences with his politics (not policing perspectives). This is a wasted deployment when it comes into handling matters of general safety of the citizens of this republic. This guy is SUPPOSED TO BE THE MINISTER OF POLICE, not a mere parliament portfolio chair. With the country's levels of ignorance, arrogance and complete disregard for public duty by the executive (especially the one lead by ANC presidents), the capacities of Cameron are going to be wasted on a committee that the very minister of police is going to obviously defy and disrespect (especially if that minister is none other than Senzo Mchunu, the useless one).
