To be honest, as someone who has been watching Dr K. for a while now, (The psychiatrist at the end of the video) I did not expect to see him on my opera gx home page when opening it up. This collaboration is something I definitely did not expect, and is interesting to see. It's really quite fascinating to see how far Dr K. has stretched throughout the internet in such a short period of time. AOE Healing baby.
I was really hoping they had developed a really good keyboard. Rage isn't something that usually happens to me, but having a keyboard die after a few years is. And the most irritating things isn't the various keys not working correctly, but that the manufacturer no longer makes an equivalent model, or they moved away from MX Switches to scissor switches. Or other things like that.
No Manufacturer wants his stuff to last or least it has to last just long enough so they are considered good quality by todays standards but not any longer beacause everytime somebody has to buy a new keyboard there is a chance its the same manufacturer. Unfortunatly the standard for how long stuff lasts gets shorter and shorter my grand ma has a microwave for example that she bought 35 years ago and a part from the light bulb cutting out a few times it still works. My mom bought one with two years guarantee approximitly two years back and it recently broke. Or i bought an xbox one gamepad just a few months ago and the triggers are already trash.
Why not build your own keyboard? Although we can't have in depth modularity with our mice, we can have full control over keyboards, now more than ever, meaning not only can we build them to our liking, but also choose to have high quality boards and switches.

That was a pleasant surprise from Dr K, his live stream and youtube videos helped me a lot during covid times. Even though i am not a rage gamer, i am so glad to see opera gx doing this.

The controller is unironically a good idea though, I've bent a controller from twisting it while focusing on a game before so at least that is still a good idea anyways.
i have anger issues, but not to the point where i just break stuff, the only time ive ever broken a peripheral was when it was faulty and didnt work properly. if im ever angry at a game i just ALT+f4 and watch youtube to cool off, then i come back to the game or play something else
There are people who destroy their whole setup... And then there's me. The game can be so unfair, it can be so rage-inducing. I keep my calm at almost all times. And it makes me curious what I'm blessed with.
Wish I was calm like that. Currently, my main genre is STGs, and the games get REALLY frustrating on high difficulties, so my ventures usually end in my hand hurting for a few days.
From someone who had serious anger issues (still have, but by far not as bad as I used to), sometimes there's that urge to just hit something hard, something that can break, and it's very difficult or sometimes impossible to hold back. People kept telling me "just go hit your pillow or something" but that doesn't do it. That doesn't fulfill this urge to let my anger out, to apply force in a destructive manner. You just need the satisfaction of breaking something, even if that's not actually what you WANT to do, you just kind of HAVE to. Don't ask me where exactly that comes from, but it's just there, and usually you just target whatever object is right in front of you or even in your hands, as long as it fulfills that need. I broke my keyboard and desk by slamming on them, my notebook is bent to a point where the fan makes loud noises because of it, and I completely broke my phone by basically throwing it into the edge of my door. I hated all of this, sometimes I even cried afterwards because I hated that I was doing that, but I just couldn't stop. Also, most of this didn't actually happen while gaming, but actually when I was fighting with my girlfriend. Getting out of my toxic relationship made things a lot better (though I do still have the urge to break something when I get really frustrated while playing a game or practicing guitar, but I can control it a lot better than I used to). So yeah. Asking "why do people with anger issues break their peripherals" is kinda the same as asking "why to people with Tourette's do weird movements/noises or swear all the time" (I know Tourette's is not that simple lol) or "why do people with asthma have trouble breathing all the time". It's nothing you can really do a lot about other than try to find a way of dealing with it.
I once bit the screen off of my Gameboy SP as a child in a fit of rage Lol I'm a lot better now. It's better to just not play at all if you're getting upset. Come back to it later when you're ready to have fun!
I've had in mind for a long time now the concept of a durable and resistant controller than doesn't break on the first fall. It's good to see someone trying out this concept, hope it turns out to be a great product.
bruh got the narrator from halo to do this commercial. Straight quality. As for the controllers being..."unbreakable" I think youll definitely have to go through some pattens for that. Having it break off into multiple pieces might be a good start though
