I’m an 11 time interbike veteran ,both as a vendor and victim . This is a good list for that too. The after parties is where you make all the friends you have for the rest of your life, and maybe a new job…It’s great .
I once threw a quarter through a sheet rock wall. Went right through and chipped the glass on the turtle aquarium.

Good idea on not skipping out on the smaller makers, some of the best started out small, and thats when ya can snag an early custom for decent price$! I remember missing out on alot of early blades/axes thinking "no way that Quality 4 that price" 🤔 & then later to find out... outa my price range.
Been going to Blade Show since 2013. Lots of fun.

As a BladeShow/NYCKS veteran attendee, I would recommend carrying a comfortable backpack and also using small luggage locks to securely lock your backpack zippers together. Why, because at Bladeshow, you're buying hundreds or possibly even thousands of dollars worth of knives and / or EDC gear and then carrying them in your backpack as you walk around the show all day. So, with your backpack zippers securely locked together with a luggage lock, you can avoid someone pickpocketing your backpack and stealing the expensive knives/gear that you just bought. Whenever there is a crowded event/show, especially where people are buying expensive stuff, thieves will unfortunately always be their targeting people to rob/pickpocket😞

Hello from San Diego 🙋♀️. Thank you for this video. Great tips!! I've never been to one. Would love to though!! I used to work at Buck Knives when they were in El Cajon. I worked on the Rivet Inserter machine for the 110 folding blades. It was awesome!! Although I gotta say that was the loudest shop I've ever worked in. Haha. You are awesome lil Miss Melissa. 🙋♀️

This was my first blade show I have attended. I kind of just winged it and went browsing as much as I could. Didn't think to plan beforehand. I had no idea it was so massive with an overwhelming amount of things to see and people to meet. I will prepare better next year.

Yes, check out the custom guys! There are a lot of great makers that do incredible work. Wear comfortable shoes, bring a small cooler with drinks. A small first aid kit would be a good idea, someone always gets cut.

Great video. Regarding 1:23, that really depends on the maker. I know many high end custom makers that would be upset if someone tried to wipe their blades as it risks scratching the finish on high polish blades. Worst thing to do is try to wipe their blade with your shirt.

Coming from Las Vegas, the only thing remotely close to a knife show we’ve had was the USN Gathering. Although now, it looks like we won’t be having that anymore 😔. I’m planning for Blade Show West in October, so I’ll keep this advice in mind when I get there. Really looking forward to it.
i used to work with a fellow who went to several shows per year. atlanta was the big one. he dealt in expensive folders. he said he was on some 3 year waiting lists for some knife makers. that's when i started looking at better edc knives. i'm only slightly addicted.

I've never been to a Blade Show, but believe me I plan on getting to one very soon, I've only been to Gun and Knife shows, knowing what I've seen on your videos, I take what you said about bringing a lot of cash very seriously, I'm a big spender myself and I tell ya what I'm not showing up with anything less then 5 grand, just for knife money alone, that don't include, entry fee or snacks, gas money, hotel room or anything else that requires cash, bring a lot of money gotcha hell yeah good tip Melissa duly noted.! 😎😅👍🎩🗡

It sounds like these trade trade shows all parallel each other as far as etiquette etc. I sell all restaurant equipment, glass, China, and pots and pans. It’s fun to communicate with people within the same industry. Or with those excited & motivated.
