    I can relate to so many things in this video and channel. Like for example, this hobby of course, 2t, mopeds (scooter), not everyone understands this hobby, my son is too much not on x box but on playstation, small cc ac motor a lot of power and a lot of heat but it fascinates, I have to thank you and remind you that you are doing a great job and continue teaching and studying, this takes time, this hobby takes time, but at least the time is spent on something you really like.

    You probably know this but during my cut and shut pipe experiments I found the front cone(s) angle have most effect leading in to the powerband and rear cone angle has most effect on over rev so if you think it's lacking there make the angles shallower, obviously keep the correct TL. As usual tho it's a tradeoff, it will reduce peak hp a little but increases the spread

      Hi, yes, I've found from simming that every change is a trade off particularly with power band width v peak power. A bit of a balancing act...
      I've never done more than one physical pipe when testing. I've always used the sim then made the best one with adjustable head and dwell length. I'm planning to do more cut and try with this project. Will be interesting to see 🙂

    Hi, great to see you working on a pipe, make a video of it too, design to finish.
    I am so glad to finally someone came up with the exchangeable tuning insert/restrictor.
    This episode was very good and only few channels I am watching and two stroke stuffing is one of them.
    Speed of cheese is another, but you know him, sometimes his not coming up with anything for a year or two.
    Keep up the good work! Not many of us around anymore!
    By the way, In radio studios, photo developing labs use to have a light on the outside, red for recording so no one get in the recording, just a thought.

      I played around with venturi inserts on my old air cooled 50cc at the dyno. Very useful to find “the safe limit” in conjunction with header/belly EGT and I wouldn’t want to be without that possibility. Mine looks a lot like yours. Good to have a couple of blank/semi once to modify as needed.
      As always, interesting video. And nice to see someone “going by the same guides” as one self. 👌
      I’m lazy, so very convenient watching you from the sofa. 😅

      Can I ask how far into the belly probe was inserted? I'm guessing half way?

      @@AutoBeta2T The difference between the inserts wasn’t huge. But notable and definitely worth it. It was a guesstimate of “safe” FOS numbers for the starting size and it was more or less spot on. (To long ago to remember exactly.) Good to validate that a smaller or bigger size wasn’t an improvement.
      Aimed for the middle of the belly with the EGT probe IIRC. That’s what makes sense anyway.
      Even if it’s way easier to sit in the sofa as a keyboard warrior 🙈 it’s much more fun testing and learning IRL. But it takes an enormous amount of time. Even if “only a moped”.

    Would be very interested to hear more of your X7 tuning experiences.
    I’ve had several and I am currently restoring an S reg.
    I brought a pair of Swarbrick pipes years ago which I haven’t tried yet.
    I had Microns on my last bike which worked well compared to Allspeeds.

      Hi Kevowski, my barrels were done.when I got the bike. Exhaust 194 Deg, transfers 130, and quite a bit of work to the inlet windows. I was running rg250 MK3 (I think) pipes that worked really well. I got a bit more power from my own pipes. Also it really liked the carbs being overbored to 27.5mm.

    My original ar50 pipe, the better down pipe model rotted so I cut it up and rewelded it with tz250 parts.

    Hello i have a question , are hydroformed pipes better than rolled cones or vice versa in terms of performance and i heard that the stainless steel pipes are weaker than normal steel ones is it true ?

      Hi, TBH I'm not sure. I've heard various stories and generally the cone pipes perform better, something to do with the abrupt angle changes. Flow wise though a hydro pipe should be better. I would like to test this. I personally feel a hydroformed header with a cone main pipe could be the best but I have no proof of this but one day I'd like to test.
      I think stainless is more brittle that steel, it also has a different thermal inertia so acts differently to a mild steel pipe requiring different dimensions.

    Oh, yeah, that other channel I'm fascinated with is 'Twostrokestuffing' and his Methanol supercharged fully home made 50cc! It's been just as fascinating to watch (for anyone else who hasn't watched it, from what I can gather, he's managed so far about 25bhp out of that thing!)
    Anyway, keep up that fine work, and I hope you manage that 100MPH target (I remember that series in the magazine) 👍. 😎🇬🇧

      Hey no worries. Being 51 myself my first bike was an AR125 (oh then we're the days! Lol), I only rode a mates 'home brew tuned' as they commonly were then lol.
      Don't worry about the, er, 'fluff up', when there is sooo much to worry about, aspects on your mind and troubleshooting to tackle with, it happens! Even seeing Alex's face when he realises he's made a booboo is funny.
      But, with trial and error and a lot of patience, it'll come good in the end.
      To me, You and Alex are, I guess, the 'Alan Millyards' of the small 2 stroke bikes, attention to detail (most of the time haha (sorry), and performing more than just us 'regular guys'... And, 'belches' aside hahaha (love it), you two make for some great entertaining videos!
      I'll be keeping a watch for the results! All the best fella 👌. 😎🇬🇧

      Hello, Just as a bit of info Alex at 2STROKESTUFFING hasn't managed to get any true readings from the dyno as yet due to corrupted data and the brake not working as it should.
      5 years ago Alex was achieving around 20 HP using the SPX variant using just petrol while using his inertia dyno.

      @@thedarkknight1971 I think I'm making up for wanting to do 'home brew tuning' when I was 16 but was too scared... I guess as you get older you're happier to take risks... There's always something to learn from mistakes. If it doesn't kill you...
      Thanks for the comparisons, I'm humbled as I'm a fan of both.

      @@malcrandall1309 Yes - it'll be good when he gets it going. I'm interested in getting a brake on my Dyno. Would be good at the min to simulate the actual real run but it's job for the future.

      Hi, a combination of known design but refined in EngMod2T or Graham Cokers' spreadsheet.

    Hello. My son have yz85 2009. And he put on a 105cc now. Is it giving right power with the orginal pipe? Or would it be better with a other one? Hgs. Fmf?

      Hi, I'm afraid I don't know much about these engines. I would imagine that a pipe designed for the 105cc kit should work better.

      @@AutoBeta2T it seams that hgs or fmf dont have pipe for yz85 105cc. So i started to think if i can make the stock pipe more sutet for 105cc. But i dont know how The pipe shuld be? Longer. Shorter. Can you explain little. What is the different. And what you recomend? You seamed to know lot of pipes. And good to build them. I know that The 105cc is exaktly like the stock only more cc. And he have a little bigger carb now.
