Change the title to “Does The Producer Know These 90’s Movies” because she is clearly as clueless as the kids about a bunch of these titles.
Did the producer have to fill in for someone at the last minute, cause it seems like she hasn't seen any of these movies either
yeah I was thinking the same thing
“it’s just me, my mommy, and my daddy”
points to anyone who gets the reference 😆
but honestly
No disrespect, but these movies deserved to be presented by someone that has actually seen them.
This was painful to watch and listen to at times. The producer not having her information straight and seeming confused about everything she said made it pointless.
The producer needed to learn the movies before she filmed. The synopses and pronunciations are killing me Smalls!
Bet the producer hasn't seen Sandlot either
Lol the Producer doesn't know the actual plots. She looks as young as the teens so probably only saw one of these movies maybe.
Here's a weird thought: get producers who have at least a passing familiarity with the things they're explaining to the panel. "Rommy" and Michelle? Tyler "Durbin"? Come on.
I don't like to criticize, but the host mis-pronounced SEVERAL words and names. And she was reading the synopses of the films like for the first time. It would be a more enjoyable video if the host sounded more enthusiastic, and more informed and confident. Just saying.
Agreed. And correct the inaccuracies. It's freaking Norman Reedus, not Dexter! It's a travesty.
@@jadamson1031 The only reference to Dexter was when they were talking about Anti-Heroes. He didn't think either actor was Micheal C. Hall, he is saying Dexter was an Anti-Hero, but on a side note, Sean Patrick Flannery (the other actor) is in Dexter.
The host clearly has not seen these films. She describes them like she is reading a poorly-written highly-contested Wikipedia entry.
Tyler Durbeh
"Rommey" and Michelle....NOOOOO :) It's Romy and Michele's High School Reunion.
That drove me crazy too 😂
This producer is not TV-ready, I’m sorry. She clearly didn’t know what she was talking about, and seemed to be sucking the energy out of the room with every pairing. It felt joyless.
I think what I learned today is that all hosts are not the same. I believe this is my first experience with this host and it was…not good. I realize different hosts bring different levels of energy and not everyone is going to be “on” all the time. But I feel like I just got finished watching an awkward 8th-grade class presentation. Presenter clearly didn’t know most of these movies, mispronouncing titular names like Romy and other character names like Tyler Durden. Some of the movie descriptions seemed a bit off or missing key parts. Perhaps worst of all, the host seemed to lack any and all excitement or enjoyment not just for the content itself but just…being there at all. If you told me she was a crew member and had arrived at work only to find the intended host violently ill and stuffing the show notes into her hand while saying “go out there and do your best”, I’d believe you 100%. I realize everyone has to get their start somewhere, but yeesh. While I obviously don’t expect rookie hosts to be able to function at the same level of experienced hosts, I certainly expect something better than what we got in this video. I’ve personally seen all these shows and movies and I can honestly say after watching this episode: If I hadn’t seen any of the material prior to this video, I certainly wouldn’t be interested in going and watching any of it. And frankly, as a viewer, if this had been my first exposure to React I probably wouldn’t want to come back. For contrast, compare this episode to another one with a first-time host from just a couple months ago. Bobin (sp?) came out and did an excellent job with that cast, with his excitement over sharing some of his favorite Nu Metal bands pouring through the screen. I’m not even the biggest fan of most of the bands he chose but even I was ready to go put them on blast after watching that episode. Here’s hoping the next new host that rotates in gives us more of that type of performance and not what we got in this video. And please, if you decide to give this host another chance, give her a cast that is made up more of her contemporaries, preferably the more experienced ones capable of carrying episodes. And let her choose her own skit so she can at least explore and present it with a bit of passion.
Yeah who the hell is Tyler Durbin?
This is 100% spot on 👏🏻
Word for word 👏👏👏👏
The Crow should be in this list cause it was THE BEST CULT CLASSIC OF THE 90'S
Exactly 👍
Those who don't know Buffy the Vampire Slayer - I feel sorry for you. Please watch the TV Series :)
I know what it is because Seth Green and robot chicken
It didn't age very well though
@@tobiopdebeeck1153 Hard disagree, but I am a Gen X'er and have watched this on repeat so many times :) Each person has different tastes though.
@@tobiopdebeeck1153What didn’t age well?
@@tobiopdebeeck1153yes it did, it was so far ahead of its time it actually feels current.
Poor producer. Seems to be making assumptions that the reactors know people she mentions in her “fun facts” even when they don’t know the movies. Might be the editing but seems a little awkward.
Who is this producer? Row-me, not, Rom-me. Tyler Durban? Vigilant justice? Did she mean Vigilante? Let's not see her again, thanks,
Producer has no idea what the movies are either.
It's better when the host is familiar with the material. It's Romy like homie. not Ramie like ramen. Also, a host that knows the movie could have pointed out that Romy and Michelle didn't represent actual 90's fashion but more like 90's fashion faux pas. They were supposed to kind of be the dorky kids all grown up.
Does The Producer Know 90's Cult Classics?!
Seriously, did they just gave her a list of videos with names and fun facts about the videos? Holy sht.
If that's the case let's go easy on using fact to describe this
Sabrina must have scoliosis by now cause she carried this episode
Agreed! I think she’s one of the most knowledgeable people REACT has, and across different media. Same goes for Jaxon.
Sabrina is always carrying these episodes 💕
I wish someone who actually watched the movies would host these types of videos. It’s just more fun and engaging that way. But let’s give the producer another chance.
The producer knew these even less than the Gen Z kids. Oof.
Kid in blue hoodie over here talking about love at first sight… child you’re 12, go to your room
😂😂😂😂
Lol 😆 🤣 😂 😹 😆
😂😂😂
Sorry but We need joe or nicole next time
Yes
Yeah, but hear me out.. How good would a double spinoff movie be in 2025 where Tyler Durbin hangs out with Rommy?
Joe would have nailed this as host.
Fun Fact: No reviews exist for the movie Fight Club because you're not allowed to talk about Fight Club.
This was not up usual standards. New producers clearly had no clue about half the movies themselves and didn't appear to have done the basic homework of reading a few paragraphs summary prior to going on camera and giving poor descriptions themselves. Also the young man sitting with Angel still seems to young to even watch half of the movies. I understand that people can be new and I am not trying to tear someone down but these things made this probably the least enjoyable episode in a while.
Does the Producer know these 90s movies?
No.
How dare she mispronounce Romy.
Jawbreaker walked so Mean Girls can run!!! 🤌🏾
And without Heathers, neither would have existed
Both true… I will never forget that look of her in the trunk with the lump in her throat. Also reminds me of Beetlejuice and the guy with the chicken bone in his throat.
Nah heathers, fast times at ridgemont high and clueless walked so jawbreaker and Mean girls can run
Terrible recapping of these movies. And such random clip choices, they get absolutely nothing.
You can’t have a producer that’s never seen fight club, breaking the rule
Bruh even the reactors look bored of the producer… I’ve never seen such a low energy video from this channel
This was horribly produced. This felt like it was written by Chat GPT and read off for the first time. The producer needed to be semi familiar with the movies in question. One of my least favorite and I should have loved this one.
Great idea, loved the movie choices, but … you can tell the producer had no clue about the movies and she kept mispronouncing the names of the characters. Only 1 cast member knew some of the movies, you should have chosen them a little bit older, it was a bunch of idks.
Thinking the same thing! I’m still watching and had to go to the comments to see if I was the only one!
I kind of wish the titles weren't there so we could guess too...
Them not knowing Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion and The Big Lebowski kills me because those are my fav movies ever
It would help if the person asking/informing these teenagers about these movie's actually knew the movie's that she's asking/informing them about, and could pronounce the characters names correctly. Hmmmm It seems she hasn't seen some of these movie's either.🤔 lol🤣
she sounds sooo detached lol
This video has no energy.
This was a bad episode, because there was very little "Hey, do you know this?" and way too touch "Here is what it is called, and here's the plot."
Tyler Durben? come on! I think you should have been 1 of the GenZ in the video instead of the host. all you did is read a synopsis of these movies that you obviously have never seen yourself.
This is the most lackluster episode!!
very unprepared producer that was not it guys
"Tyler Durbin" LMAO has the host even seen it. Also the "vigilant" Justice LOL it's vigilante. Two very different meanings.
You should have gotten a host who has actually seen these movies. FFS. Also make sure she can read
Is this a new person? I think maybe they should’ve put them on a different episode first. Maybe one about topics they’re knowledgeable about. Everyone has to start somewhere though.
Jawbreaker IS the 'Mean Girls' of the 90's
How do you pick some of the worst scenes to show and then not even know what the movies are about lmao wtf
To be fair, the fish tank scene in Romeo + Juliet is kind of iconic.
Not as iconic as the gas station shootout at the start, but still well known.
And I'm pretty sure the clip they used from Dazed and Confused is the only scene anybody knows about that film.
Yeah the person asking the questions seems like she has 0 enthusiasm and is killing the video.
Please do a more thorough job researching the films that you feature, it’s not Romy like Mommy, it’s Romy like homie.
When you tell them about the movies you should actually read the plot. The producer was off on explaining multiple movies
JOE definitely should have been the producer of this episode. Sorry, not sorry. You didn't even pronounce half the titles correctly especially ROMEy and Michelle's high school reunion. Not ROMy like its spelled lol.
Omg thank you! I was just going to comment on the horrific host.
IKR... she squashed the vibe for sure!
Romy is even pronounced how it's spelled. the way she said it would be like Rommie or something
Why did you put the titles up right away? This took away from the audience to playing along
Yeah it's so stupid.
Those descriptions were terrible.
This episode seemed very lacklustre the producer/announcer was totally bland like she didn’t want to be there and those movie pics. Could she be more random. What’s with The Boondog Saints like nobody saw them. Come this was a week episode. Sorry. Thumbs down 👎🏻.
Shows random NPCs fighting... Oh you don't know Buffy?
Was it from Buffy the movie, though? I've seen the show all the way through and the clip didn't ring a bell.
@@meganvalek2690 yeah that was the movie
It actually was a good scene in the Movie.
The girl reading everything shouldn’t have that job. The struggle was real. Also seemed like she hadn’t seen a lot of these films with how she mispronounced names.
Before I clicked on the video why was I assuming this was about cult classic songs not films 🤣
The descriptions of the movies were so off at least get the characters names right !!!
What would Tyler Durban do?
Did she call her Rahmy*? It's (Roh-me) Romy!!
Who TF is tyler durban
Who the heck is Tyler Derban..? 😮😂😂🤣
Also, the adamant guess of Footloose for Fight Club was insane. That’s like guessing The Breakfast Club for Pulp Fiction.
Anyone else feel this episode is off for some reason? Like producer...reacters....idk....just felt off?
Did they have one of the normal hosts call out sick or something? Is the host GenZ too?? This poor girl literally bungled her way through the WHOLE shoot. She had NO IDEA what she was talking about for the vast majority of the video. Yikes. A little prep and research would have served her well.
I don't want to cancel someone out of a job but that producer needs either a lot more training or to switch positions.
Did she not watch any of the films?
This was a really mediocre react for something that should've been really fun to watch. You gotta have someone asking the questions who knows the content a little. She was less excited about the content than the kids were and it was a total bummer. As someone who loved the 90s this was a total buzzkill.
I wish you didn't put the titles up right off the bat - I wanted to play along lol!
Same.
This video had so much potential of this producer knew what the hell she was talking about with each movie!! The “deep questions” had nothing to do with plot of the movies! She ruined a video I was actually excited to watch!
Saying only Buffy had the power to fight vampires was just so wrong. Completely wrong summary of the movie.
Wait, Jawbreaker is considered a cult classic? Huh.
No Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas? Event Horizon? Empire Records? Reality Bites? Any of the 90s Kevin Smith movies like Chasing Amy, Mallrats, and Clerks? Fargo? Before Sunrise? Usual Suspects? Cronos? Se7en?
Never heard of it until this video
@@Lapinporokoira Yeah the movie never stood out to me among the glut of teen movies during that time. Really surprised it's now considered a cult classic. I guess I underestimated the following the movie have.
I actually like Jawbreaker, but you named some really great ones. I was obsessed with both Empire Records and Reality Bites. I had the soundtrack for both on CD.
@@stacynaus2761 Can't remember if Lisa Loeb's "Stay" is from Empire Records or Reality Bites soundtrack but I'm pretty sure her song is in one of the two. And I'm also sure there's a Gin Blossoms track there somewhere as well :D
@@BrokenNoah Reality Bites
This producer seems to not know her topic which brings down the whole episode. Most have a passion for what they are presenting/reacting to. Like the latest with Joe and nu -metal. I really hate to say this but unless her next couple are something she is passionate about and help give life to the topic, she is being the brand name down.
Where are the noises for the buzzer?? Is this a new producer or was this a last minute change which is why whe was so unprepared?
The producing and editing for this video was half assed.
"Vampire slayer teacher-esc type of person..." WATCHER. The word you're looking for is Watcher.
I'm sorry but the producer is not it. She sounds clueless.
Actually I prefer the craft, over cruel intentions.
This was painful to watch
to be clear cruel intentions they were step sibling so not blood-related and was a teen adaption of and based on a French novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses with the movie Dangerous Liaisons being based on the times and place of the novel
Is this producer high or something
Why put the titles up instead of letting the audience play along?
Brad's character was a figment of his imagination and what he did was actually done by himself and it was a commentary on society and consumerism
The names need to be pronounced correctly.
Romy is pronounced, Row - Mee.
Durden is pronounced, Der - Den.
While I'm glad that these movies are mentioned, you got a lot of the plots wrong though. And maybe this React might be better with Reactors who are a little bit older?
I think the producer also was a problem in this one. She got plots wrong and didn't seem to know some of these movies - which is weird. Plus, the whole point of the video is "Gen Z - smart or not" lol
Sees a scene of a bunch of people viciously fighting at night: "Elf?"
I'm sorry, I have to know, what about that scene said Christmas comedy starring comedian Will Ferrell? 😂
Cruel Intentions was a modern day take on Dangerous Liaisons
We’re gonna look at 90’s movies
“Is this Elvis?”
Maybe let's not bring this producer back again
This was super awkward lol. Idk if the producer was just nervous, but it probably shouldn’t have been put out to us.
Cruel Intentions is actually a pretty good movie.
It's sad that she didn't say that Cruel Intentions is a newer version of Dangerous Liaisons 😏😒
That lady had never seen Cruel Intentions. You really think she knows Dangerous Liaisons?
lmao giiiiirl... the producer is so distracting when she doesn't know how to pronounce words or names. "vigilant justice" lol. tyler durben. romy & michelle. because like, if theyre gonna have a cast that is entirely unfamiliar with all these movies, then the producer needs to be able to sell the movies to them!!! but she cant do that because she doesnt know any of them. you guys usually knock it out of the park but this one was roooough
Yea the producer should been the one trying to guess instead of trying to read movie synopsis of movies she doesn't know.
I’ll be honest, I’m a little surprised nobody called him Daryl when The Boondock Saints clip played
The moderator of this video is absolutely atrocious. She's very unprepared.
The producer irked me to no end. Wouldn't it have been better to have a producer ACTUALLY FAMILIAR with said classics?
"Tyler Durbin" LMAO has the host even seen it. Also the "vigilant" Justice LOL it's vigilante. Two very different meanings.
Sabrina knows her stuff. I'm a Spike stan myself. And to be honest, Sabrina seems to know most of this stuff better than the producer, who is just reading. And, sorry, but in what universe some of these are 'cult classics'...?
Cult classic is a movie which underperformed or was unappreciated when it first came out, and then through word of mouth or rose tinted glasses gained a large and/or devoted following. I don't see an issue with any of these movies being called that.
Please don’t put the names up while we’re still trying to guess!
Little baby voice is so cute
Poor choice of reactors and producer.
Producer is a no for me.
Also, in Jawbreaker Fern came in as the 4th because she heard them talking about what they did and so they brought her in to keep her quiet.
And I’m pretty sure most know of the star-crossed lovers Romeo & Juliet but why not mention Shakespeare lol
Boondocks Saints was my favorite movie i definitely shouldn't been growing up but i still love that movie
Did the question person keep mispronounce things about the movies?
How old is that kid next to Angel? He does not act like a teen. Like his responses scream actual child or a teen with very strict parents. I feel bad for Angel, you can so see her suffering from the second hand embarrassment. Heck I was getting it by just watching him.
Agreed. Poor little dude was a bit much
He looks and sounds like a little boy in grade school.
