TAMIYA 1/24 VW Beetle Disney Herbie
*About the kit
I made it before, so this is the second one.
I tried to make it better than last time.
The famous Beetle movie is Disney's Herbie, and I think Beetle fans enjoyed watching it.
The Beetle with the number 53 and red, white, and blue lines is the most famous Beetle in the world, and many Beetle fans enjoy custom-painting Herbie.
The Beetle in the movie is a 63-year model, but Tamiya is a 66-year model. Although the model year is different, I made it by referring to Herbie's painting and attaching a roof rack for leisure use.

I made a roof rack with 0.8mm, 0.5mm nickel silver wire and 0.3mm brass wire.
The legs of the roof rack are covered with vinyl, and the fixing bracket is in the middle.
The luggage is two trunks, a vintage cooler box, and a guitar case, all made of 0.5mm and 0.3mm plastic board.
I put a tissue on the trunk to give it a texture.
Each detail is finely crafted.
With elaborate accessories, you can cover up the appearance even if the car is not very complete.

As the person who made this kit knows, the combination of the hood is bad.
I put a plastic plate on and adjusted the gap.
However, after assembling, I realized that this gap is important for opening and closing the hood.
Next time I would like to make a Vintage motorcycle with a garage.

アイデアやテクニックに加えてセンスも良いから真似したくてもなかなか出来ないです。観察力というか知識もないとここまで出来ないですよ、すごい！
ワーゲンは街角で見かけると、ドライバーさんに声掛けて写真撮らせてもらうくらい好きです。
ボディーに共振してるようなエンジンの音もまた格別なくらいです。

your works are absoultely stunning particularly gave shaped the magazine,pringles snack,and so on into subminiature,how did to make it🤩
I take photos of the actual item, scale it down, print it, and assemble it.
The case etc. are made of plastic board.

Where do you get the small metal wires and tubes? Do you have recommended sizes for detailing?
I purchased most of them from Amazon.
Wires are 0.4mm, 0.5mm, 0.6mm.
The metal wire is 0.3mm, 0.4mm, 0.5mm, 0.8mm brass wire and nickel silver wire.

Really great work! Seems as if you had a problem with the front 53 being unable to mask the central edging, you could solve it by using the technique that the Disney prop department used: cut the sticker in half and put each one on each side of the edging. Then cover it up with a central strip to make it look as if it's all one piece! Hope this helps.

The concealing power of commercially available decals was low, and the bottom color was exposed, so I had no choice but to paste it on the edge.
From now on, I will use the technique of cutting the decal in half and pasting it on the uneven part that you taught me.

To make the stripes and numbers go cleanly together without the stripe underneath showing through, you can cut a circle outline on the stripes where you'd put on your numbers

I love your vision and aesthetic. I have a question about technique. After you layer the stain brown and ground brown, you are removing with the Q-tips. At that time, are the washes wet, part dry or fully dry? Are you using thinner/solvent on the Q-tip? Thank you. I look forward to trying your technique on a Bronco to replicate the 1:1 scale 1975 Bronco that I drove in the 1990's!
In the case of rust expression, the surface is dry.
If the color appears dull, it is wet.
I use a special thinner, but nothing else.
However, there are no set rules when it comes to wet and dry conditions, and we use effective methods.

Congratulations from Brazil, your work is excellent, what adhesive do you use to temporarily fix the rack before soldering?
I didn't use the initial glue before soldering.
However, since it is a nickel silver wire, a primary for metal is applied.
