Excellent video! Tha drawing of the flying camel is really useful. Could you do a video on different back camel entries and death drop for beginners? Thanks and Happy New Year!
Yea death drop I love, mines not as big as legends like Boitano but I can give you the idea! 😆
Lovely explanations and videos. Thanks for the tips!
Thank you 🤩
Great tips. Struggling on back camel. Please share more tips on that.
Yes change foot and transitions is a great subject not many people talk about
Cauldron, banana ❤ love it
😆 I love words to associate with actions helps to remember and visualise the movement s
Great points! Your instruction is the best.
Thanks! Perfect timing as I'm working on my camel & camel catch-foot!
Perfect I am making a longer video for camel soon! Main tip for catch foot is to do it 3 parts:
1) strong cable fully stretched out
2) rotate shoulders to reach back (not just the arm) and at this stage don’t bend your leg to grab your foot until you have fully rotated your shoulders
3) bend your knee and grab in one Swift action (takes practice!) you’ll miss a few times then you’ll get it!
There is a step 4 which is to “tweak” the position pushing the foot into your hand and lifting your body, at this stage you can also pull your other arm in too gain a tiny bit more speed 👍🏼
Been trying to get my camel spin down - I think my coach showed me how to do it once, but looking at your demonstration it seems I'm waiting to hook the 3-turn too long and end up with almost no momentum left by the time I start spinning. I guess part of my problem is that if I go into it too fast and don't essentially kill all of my momentum going into the hook, I end up drifting and going off center, which probably means I'm on too shallow of an edge, so... maybe I need to bend my knee more on this? ( ͡• ͜ʖ ͡• )
Yes I’d use the “cauldron arm” and the extra knee bend to create rotation not speed across the ice. You can generate surprising amount of spinning speed from this without pushing hard. The feeling is the leave your free leg behind and turn away from it…
@@iskatecoach Thanks! Describing things in terms of 'feeling' is great for figure skating 😁
@@iskatecoachI get the "leave your free leg behind" part but not "turn away from it."
So think if it as this:
You push into your spin
The leg you push with is behind you
Keep it behind you as you do your outside entry edge and three turn
At some point it will have to catch up and that creates a little “whip” feeling.
Sometimes I describe it as a dog chasing it’s tail if that helps 🐶 😆
I would appreciate it if you would not use curse words in the video @4:04 (used as an exclamation). I would share this video with my friends, but I don't want to send this to my younger friends because of that word.
Thank you.
What kind of snowflake considers "Damn it!" to be a curse word? Get a grip, you'll hear much worse out in the real world.
