    Every kpop group is different and will do different kinds of sounds so its not like kpop is coming back to this sound but more of a stray kids kind of sound. They generally have gritty upbeat title tracks

    • @drewx2737
      @drewx2737 Před měsícem +3

      @@ladytreasure8208 yes it was kind of naive thought. I wish it was true though and more k-pop sounded as great as them :)

    Stray Kids are known for having "loud" music. Some people like it, some don't. But that's their sound and I love them for it! I also appreciate that they write and produce their own music and are open to experimenting. One thing's for sure, you'll never get bored with Stray Kids!

  • @zera8068
    @zera8068 Před měsícem +38

    I would say Stray Kids right now is the only kpop group that are not afraid to experiment, put their own work in and bring something new every time yet still be able to keep their sound. They only keep improving every time and they have a very dedicated fanbase that is getting bigger every come back

    • @StaySiren
      @StaySiren Před měsícem +3

      I would not entirely agree with you. Vibey groups are the majority right now, but there are a lot of experimental groups (Nmixx, (G)I-dle, ampers&one, dxmon, bad villain, itzy, etc)

    • @zera8068
      @zera8068 Před měsícem +8

      @@StaySiren it’s fine, this is just my opinion and anyone can disagree but the groups you mentioned are all missing something which was my point. For ex. Nmixx is experimental but they don’t get involved in the making of their music and they don’t have the most dedicated fanbase. Itzy doesn’t get involved in making of their music either (tho they have been involved in writing more these past come backs) and they are not getting bigger every come back, especially after Snickers. The closest group out of all the others you’ve mentioned I would say is Idle. Experimental, dedicated fanbase, involvement. They have it all but their past 2 come backs didn’t perform as well as their past 3 before them so even tho they are close I wouldn’t say it’s the whole package

    • @zera8068
      @zera8068 Před měsícem +1

      But I would also say Idle deserves a special mention because they, especially Soyeon, are real inspirations. Especially in an industry where we rarely see female idols get involved in their music

      @freyaschenberg1225 Před měsícem +3

      i know you said group which i 100% agree with, though both nmixx and gidle are very experimental with their sound but i just have to raise namjoons latest album, RPWP, i dont think ive ever heard anything close to that in kpop when it comes to solo artists and i would Love a collab between namjoon and chan

    • @zera8068
      @zera8068 Před měsícem +2

      @@freyaschenberg1225 many people think it’s a bit impossible but I can honestly see that happening since Stray Kids just renewed their contract, 1 year before it ends too, so I think they are going to be more free with their activities so why not. They are the 2 biggest kpop boy groups right now, BTS being one even without being active, so I would say it’s at least possible

    • @AC-ri2ph
      @AC-ri2ph Před měsícem +3

      @TheXRayLP ateez is the closest you're gonna get to skz, but they don't do that hard edge every comeback. Their performances are top tier and amazing and energetic, but I find their music is not consistently packing a hard punch every comeback. Hence bouncy. Their music itself doesn't have the hard hitting energy, the members do. The members are carrying that music. Itzy, no. Just look at cake.amazing performers, top tier and the members themselves are very hard hitting, but their music and composition is not. Their older songs were closer to bps girlcrush kinda music but in the last few years it's been soft and their popularity has took a nose dive. The only girl groups I would say go hard is blackpink, maybe xg, and milli who did mirror mirror. Nmixx and itzy have the potential, but that is not the concept or the music jype has chosen for them.

    • @TheXRayLP
      @TheXRayLP Před měsícem

      @@AC-ri2ph Yeah Ateez always tries something new and softer sounds as well. And I meant Itzys Born To Be and Untouchable :) But I wouldnt say all other groups are lacking in being powerful. Ryan, Hugh and Skz (particularly Bang Chan) have been close friends since 2021. Ryan is a big SKZ fan, Hugh as well.
    So weve been waiting for this collab since forever 😅 filming the mv was their first time meeting in person.
    Skz will have a song on the Deadpool OST called Slash
    Chk Chk Boom is the title track off their album ATE that just came out.
    Not sure how long youve been gone for but if you like harder stuff I recommend Lalalala and MegaVerse by Stray Kids.
    Ateez is another group youd probably like. They have a similiar vibe to Skz. Recommend their song Work, Crazy Form and Bouncy

    This is part of a double-sided collaboration. In this M/V Hugh and Ryan appear, and the video itself has references to Deadpool, and then there is another Stray Kids song (SLASH) included in the new Deadpool and Wolverine movie OST. I have a feeling that song is probably going to be grittier than this one.

    Hyunjin slayed his part both the dancing and the rapping! Fun fact, RR and Hugh Jackman all liked Hyunjin's art and dance performances before. RR liked Hyunjin's psycho fancam and Hugn liked many of Hyunjin's art posts. I'm glad that talent is appreciated.

    This was my first Stray Kids track and it blew me away. BTS was my first K-Pop ever, and that was only because I'm a huge Polyphia and FIR fan and Tim Henson and Luke Holland covered Butter together. Since then I dove into BTS, and then found DPR Ian because a cosplayer I follow did the Don't Go Insane dance trend.
    Suffice it to say my K-Pop frame of reference is small and it hasn't been what I go looking for in general but this track was enough to make me go check out the top recommendations for new listeners and I watched God's Menu, S-Class, Maniac, and LALALALA. I am now a baby Stay. XD

    Looks like we have the same case. Been into kpop in its early era, left when it went oversaturated with ‘soft’ or ‘too k-poppy’ sounds, I came back when heard Stray Kids, been following THEM eversince.
    I’m afraid i should say that SKZ doesn’t represent kpop entirely. Meaning, this typa sound is THEIRS only.
    Of course there are some groups that in the typical ‘hard’ or ‘complex’ or ‘noisy’ or ‘loud’ kpop side like BlockB, MonstaX, Dreamcatcher, KARD, DPR, NCT 127, Ateez, MCND, NTX;
    but I gotta say-not as a SKZ fan but a ‘hard-hitting music’ enthusiast-NO ONE is near SKZ when it comes to ‘being consistently noisy.’
    So yeah, if you intend to come back to kpop universe to find HARD sound, i feel i must recommend you to trace back SKZ discogs that you’ve missed so far.
    Other than that, see above.
    Whatever your choice will be, nice to see you again, man!
