Gorgeous! I know that epoxy is everywhere these days, but I sooo appreciate its use for projects like this. That board might have been chucked away, but with some judiciously applied epoxy and the cheeky bow tie, it gets to live a long life as a beautiful desktop.
Always a pleasure to watch what you are doing Keith. I have always been a bit dubious about putting plastic into wood, but watching this, I might give it a try on some smaller pieces that are cracked and see how it works out. The butterfly looks great!
When filling a large gap with epxy resin blast it with a heat gun , that will get the bubble out . I have used the glass looking stuff ( expensive) to fill cracks in wood , it works well.
Hi Keith!! 4:23 you mention air bubbles, fire 🔥gets air out of epoxy. A tiny blast from a little blowtorch would do it. Or, and probably better vibration. Push on the side with a sheet sander (no paper) and the vibration pops up bubbles. Or it did on another channel that I watch (but don't love as much as yours)...! Love the videos. LP
Very nice job sir it’s good to see you using old timber and like you said the dickie bow may not have been necessary but it does add a nice Touch you said about sharpening your planer blades the one’s we have are two side then you throw away stay safe 👍👏
Amazing, I'm weeks away from finishing my lv1 in Carpentry and joinery, hopefully lv2 bench joinery in September. I wish one day I will be as good as you! That cabinet is a thing of beauty! Well done
@@daGobbo I lost my job at the start of covid, I hated it anyway. But saw a opportunity to retrain through the reset and jumped at it. Saw it as if I don't do this now I never will. I now work part time (struggling at times) but I know it will pay off.

100% agree saving what would be fire otherwise without epoxy. Use sparingly 😁
It's very satisfying when you use planes and chisels. Beautiful work.
The shop helper is the real star here. 😉🐈⬛
Nice top, love it.
That's great, I've never done a joint like that but I'd like to, and you have made it clear what to do. Thumbs up.
The mighty ‘Thor’ mallet, great piece of kit!

A very elegant top, Keith. Well done.
Great video! 👍

Very pretty! Love the butterfly.
Fantastic work, Keith! Really beautiful top!!! 😃
The bowtie looks amazing!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Really beautiful result, Keith.
Sorry to be boring but I 💜Dylan.
Really nice Kieth. 👌
I love the bow inset in the wood, so clever.
A track saw is, in my opinion, a semi-stationary tool, so I prefer it corded.
Love the details; the shellac to enhance the look and the bevel to give it a lighter edge...and the dutchman of course - really nice work Keith.
Lot of work that Keith .

Nice work Keith! Thanks for always sharing with us!👍💖😎JP
10:18 🕴️🕴🏿🕶️ The key to the Galaxy is on Orion's belt. Or Dylan's. 😂
Looks really good especially the contrast between the different colour woods 👍👍

This turned out beautiful.
Great video as always Keith, thank you.
Similar vibe to Blacktail Studio with this project, with the black epoxy, bevelled underside and bowtie.
Dylan is such a handsome little fella 😎
Nice! Entire room looks great.
Very nice job Keith. I love the bow tie, it adds character to the surface and looks brilliant. Great video mate 👍🏻👍🏻
Stunning!
Nice job Keith the tops very effective. I like your cheap epoxy trick it works brilliantly. Tony
Love your channel and videos
I guess pound shop means the same thing as dollar store in the US.
Fantastic! 👍
Lovely project and good to see a decent sponsorship advert in there.
Brilliant

I wish I could get on a course, but they only do it when I’m working locally to me. I’m just muddling by watching these inspiring builds instead

if you've only come here for Dylan skip to: 00:32 (deja vu Dylan); 04:39 (Keith disturbs Dylan's nap) & 10:16.
Cracking build Broony 👏
🐈 00:33 and 10:16
Lovely work as always.
Cheers Karl 👍
Nice
I love this! I also love the epoxy with dye, so cool. Water based varnish... is that what the yanks call polyurethane?
What was the varnish you used?
Hi. I was just wondering if you have any recommendations on budget tracks that can be used with a Festool plunge saw? Thanks
Evolution should fit
