I got into DJing in 1983 because of this track and chicago house!!!!!
If it wasn't for Straight Outta Compton I probably would've gone to the grave without ever hearing this. Really opened up a new world of music for me.
David Madrigal Me too man me too i wish this was the type of music that was being played on the radio today I often think on what it would’ve been like to experience it all in the 80s and 90s it seems like back then was a much happier and overall better time although I will say that this day and age has a lot of perks to it like the medical aspect of things we’re a lot more open to certain treatments that didn’t exist back then so that’s a plus I guess
Tech n9ne
Vice City brought me here a few years ago.
Listen to Kraftwerk and you will know

When this came on in the movie SOC my dad jumped up and started poppin n lockin . Never saw a 50 yr old white man move like that.
*edit it was in the middle of the theater on premiere night, all the people in the theater started shouting and cheering. Truly it was a sight to see.

@@MarketLiberal I guess he fucked around and invented a style then 😎
Screw that movie
The actual genius of Hashim is truly underrated. This is advanced on many different levels. The 80”s.
One of the most quintessential and era defining songs of all of us born in the 70s and growing up in the 80s. It's tough to describe the amount of emotion this song carries in my soul. It's cool to be able to say "yo I was there"!
Master piece needs to be in the Rock Hall of Fame! Seriously
I wonder why music like this didn't get recognized or awarded for....
I AGREE WITH YOU 10,000%
I ALWAYS USED TO GO NUTS ANYTIME I HEARD THIS JAM BACK IN THE DAY! LOVE ❤THIS SONG SO MUCH ♥️! THAT'S OUR ERA WITH OUR REAL BIG BOOM BOXES WITH ABOUT 8, 10, 12, D"SIZE BATTERIES! THOSE WAS DAMN GOOD DAYS! I'M 60 YEARS OLD NOW THANK GOD FOR THOSE GOOD TIMES AND GOOD MUSIC BY GREAT MUSICIANS, VOCALISTS, DJ PRODUCERS, REMIXERS,ETC.,

ONE OF THE BEST SONGS OF THE BREAKIN' ERA! A TRUE CLASSIC. POPPED MY A** OFF TO THIS AND STILL CAN.
😉 Go on then... wow... 11-years ago.... hope you are well.
Eu com 39 anos agora que conheci essa pérola,e olha que eu gosto de freestyle
I've been trying to find this track for some time. I use to love to hear it mixed back in the late 80's. The best scratching was the part that kept repeating- "It's time". Oh, I love.....................................................................it! What a classic! This is one of the best tracks of all time in hip hop history. They just don't make them like this anymore.
It’s more electro than hip hop. Look up Cybotron-Clearl
So glad you know this was my fav.as well I can listen to it at about 6kwatts in my truck
I remember breaking to this…. At 50 . I can still pop lock… thank you for bringing back memories.
Remembering when at our school anyone found breaking was suspended or expelled! Those were the days! Electro funk forever!
Yes i was there during its pinnacle no matter what club the floor would get packed, I felt the energy of this song once to a couple thousand ,it was nuts.
They simply don't make music like this no mo. This almost makes me want to go to the club this weekend and stay sober of course and dance till 12 am Sunday. Then sleep for a few hours. Go to church and go to work. Then finally listen this record after work on Sunday night.
straight outta Compton sent me here

I was originally sent here from a video of some girl who grew up spinning and scratching, and this was in the mix of videos that were put together of her. THEN I heard it in Straight Outta Compton.
Huge appreciation for this track. Blows even a lot of the modern stuff out of the water.

I djed at a few cluubs in Dallas.Back in the 80's had a dance group aswell. The streetplayers.I'm 61 now ,but I still remember all the girls cheering us on.
They use to play this at the skating ring, back in the day,and the place would just EXPLODE!!!!Dam I love this joint!!
This Was A Club Banger All By Itself, Back In The Breaking Days😂
Jonathan Adkison I used to also dance to it not just break
Still is
anyone going to street sounds UK fresh 2016? cant wait , 30 years on...sweet
This remix is kinda fly, dig it
Im so glad I grew up in the 80s much respect to dre but ekektro and break music along with house was the origin of most of modern music today
This tune is the electro metro classic favourite of mine.
I got to see this guys cutting it live with 4 turntables and they would do it backwards, with 250 sub speakers, with an amp each, the bass would be scary strong,I remember when they went to Reseda's rollerskating ring ,how bad the brickwalls, with those big bricks crossed, would vibrante, and you wouldnt hear a sound for about two hours after leaving the place, you would come out completly deaf
Great memories!! Danced it.
Why ruin an iconic classic. You can’t mess with the original because it’s just the best!! 😇
YO! BY DJ MAGIC VILMO FROM BRAZIL 808 I LIKE IT SOUND

With the bass in your face
It follows me wherever I go
18 inch subwoofers for a headboard
More 18 inch subwoofers to cover every wall, room and space at my house, Good thing I moved back to my hometown on México. Here, I can really bump it.
How low can you go.
I only got twenty thousand watts
But you can feel it for miles and miles. Can't believe it makes windows rattle two miles away.
too raw for the normal use !!! but fired evry dance floor in to fire !!! hashim !!! is total underrated !!! to this day !!!!
I came here through a time machine. Before now I wasn't sure about reversing time but these beats... they go wayyyy back.
Schoner Classic ............!!!
I was looking for this track over years !!!!
Definitely relate to this..always did always will.. 40 years ago i 1st heard this, the more i heard it the more i related to it even from that very 1st time... it's time..
I got to see them boys cutting it live on Reseda,Ca on around 84,with 4 turntables, backwards, and 2 hundred speakers with a 1000 watt amp for each going full blast.
It was insane
The egyptian lover, too short ,the DJ from the movie Breaking and a few others.
Ice T’s dj in breaking was chris The glove taylor I believe
Classic !!!
Fresh and Fresh
I learn to scratch this as a DJ in the old days
When released we put masking tape on the records to cover artist and title...so other DJ groups couldn't figure out.. memories
This is one of those records youd go in the record store and by on the strength of the cover art alone and hope you had something when you got home and in this case i did
King of kings forever
This mix is no where near as good as the original. Dre took the soul out of it.
Dr Dre has nothing to do with this
@@sarahwalker377 Dre did this remix uncredited ya dummy
DJ Cheese opening track DMC Championship 1986. I think I win the ‘I’m here for that’ reason people 😎🙌🏻
The King puts his Official Seal on "The Soul".
Apr 2024!!! Still Listening!!!
Me too, all Day🫡💪🏾
2019 CAN YOUUUUUU HEARRRRR MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
Best 808 I've ever heard.
Ok ima be honest I’m here cause of straight outta Compton but I love 50s to 90s music but when I heard this beat I had to know what this was I’m from 2004 first of all but damn I wish I was a 70 child so I could grow up on this shut but no I had to be a 2000s kid but don’t hate on me for not knowing this but at least cut me some slack for listening to today’s and I can’t wait to be able to drive so I bump my music
To me I hear parts of these great original jams in so many hit songs. From lyrics to beats the bass is as loud as your system can handle and then some.
Why the hell the quality here is soo good?
the best miusic !!!!
The beat of all beats couldn't keep me off dance floor 🎵🎵
That's what's up
1983 Sent Me Here!
Been looking to hear this for a while. I edited it im my apartment on 22nd street and was MIA for the photo shoot for the cover. My loss :( Thanks for posting it
