    I don't think it was David that attracted these men's dedication. I think it was God. These men knew that God was the real God, and they loved Him and found this way to serve Him -- by serving the Israeli leader, who seemed to be whom God wanted them to join with. They were serving God!

    I did not murder Uriah.
    Uriah demanded to go against God's orders. Just like Saul making the sacrifice instead of Samuel. Uriah demanded the right to disobey and David took care of his widow afterward, as is commanded by God. Of course a bunch of bitter and selfish people who don't understand God would try to spin it in a way that suits their desire to judge me, but they are never prepared to be judged in kind.
