CDL prep app. 95% of the questions on the app are on the written test. Studied and did the practice tests on the app til I got over 90% consistently. Passed everything first try

Hitting the road this weekend after passing training 🤠 i got mine in MS and everything was handled and comped by the carrier im working for here. i had my physical cdl in 3 weeks but training took 6(could take 4 if your trainers truck dont break 🤦🏼♂️)
The easiest way to just get into it and get working right away are the bigger carriers. Even if you go through a school youll likely end up a bigger carrier as a start anyway. Some of them offer everything at half the price of others so look around in your area for those not so well known smaller companies that might hook it up better in pay as well...

Glad to hear you got through training! You are right about going to a bigger carrier anyway. The reason why I didn’t do that first is because it was convenient for me to attend a school closer to home. Thank you for the kind words :)
@@briatruckingfor sure, everyone's situation is going to be unique to where there at and what they're doing. I was on track to have Amazon put me through the 160 school but the I discovered my local hookup and thought it was the best way to go about it for my situation.
Sincerely your channel has been awesomely timed into my trucking experience even when you released the tandem video-coincided. I also have an interest in driving a local gig like what your doing or unfi after I get my experience and can use that to help me get back west 🙏☘️

I'm also scheduled to go to a Concentra facility in SoCal as well. If I passed the US Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) physical, I sure as heck can pass the US DOT physical

Thank you so much for this video, I got my dot and passed the air brakes but totally tanked the combined lol, I’m currently studying to go back and take the other two, but, I have been calling around trucking schools here in the Fresno areas and you are right, I’ve gotten quotes starting at $2k to $3500 (I’m going with the cheap one lol) I do have a full time job so hopefully I can squeeze some time to get my cdl asap. You got this man don’t give up! I also was working my full time job when I was going 2 or 3 times a week to trucking school. I paid $3,800 for my school..don’t give up man I passed my inspection on my first try but failed my skills, then passed my skills on my 2nd try but failed my road test and then finally passed my road test on my 3rd try and got my license you got this man!! 🙏

I got my permit and joined a school right after and I already have my dmv test appointment for October, so if everything goes well the whole process is going to take me just under 2 months. I paid $1800 for the school I joined which was the cheapest I could find here in the Fresno area.

@@dolce159 hi, yes the school I’m going to is called Truck nation. I have my dmv appointment next week 🤞🏾let’s hope I pass and I can get my license, I signed up the last week of August so if I pass my test next week that would mean that I was able to get my license in about 7 weeks. But it all depends on the person if you really apply yourself and have time to be there all day I’m pretty sure you can get it sooner but I have a full time job which limits the time I can be there but honestly it felt super fast. Right now they have a sale going on for $1750 according to their Instagram. Good luck and if you signed up mentioned my name so I can get a $100 referral fee 😂😂

You should ask. Because we work for logistics that work for Amazon. Not really FOR Amazon.
Idk how it is for your Amazon but I work at Amazon and they told me that you have to get a blue badge and after you get your blue badge you have to be a blue badge for at least 90 days and then they can cover for your trucking school

Yes, you need to enroll in a school and you will use the truck from the school for the DMV test.
What kind of safety vest is that??
Also another thing she didn’t mention is that the dmv will also make you retake you class C on top of your class A written tests. So make sure you study for class C too lol

Hi Bria quick question, do I need to do the ELDT (Entry Level Driver Training) first before applying for my CLP here in CA or can I just do the ELDT after I am issued my CLP upon completion of general knowledge test?? Thanks
Good question! I had to complete the ELDT while I was in the truck driving school. My driving instructor provided me with the link for the training and I had to complete it before I went to go take my driving test at the DMV. I do not believe they will give you a driving test if you do not have the EDLT certificate within the DMV system. Hope this helps!

One final question for you. As a driver, I always want to be courteous so what are things average motorists can do to be courteous to you - the truck driver. Is it just common sense or are there things that really are important that are not so obvious? Thanks again!
The most important thing is to give the trucks space. Never cut off a truck, especially on the freeway and never be on the inside lane while trucks are making turns on the outer lane.

@@GoodVibes24_7 no I didn’t need the permit before starting school they actually helped me prepare with a few practice test. Permit test cost $98 and physical was around $60

Am I the only one being told that I need eldt before I take my permit test but I need a permit to go to a school and get eldt
So, In California I can take the CDL permit test first before the DOT physical? If I don’t get the DOT physical right away, does the permit still expire in 180 days or do they just hold it without expiration until I bring in the DOT physical?
Did you already get your CDL? But yeah you can do the 3 written test but you won’t get a permit until the DMV receives the DOT so I don’t think it expires because they wouldn’t even give it to you😭

That’s good to hear! I’ve never played with truck simulator games other than the arcade style ones that I was put through in company training. I’m sure a truck simulator game can be useful for testing out some driving scenarios.
I'm curious because back in the day you only had stick shifts. What is the percentages of stick versus automatic? Thanks!
I’m not sure about the percentage, but I know that a lot of schools still have them. Probably for the purpose of not having the automatic restriction.
The reason the truck schools make you take your CDL and you learn in stick is so you're not restricted to only automatic
CZcams is a big help. Last two times I did hazmat test, youtube is whr I studied. The book is hard to understand

What happend if you pass the air brake test but not the general test did you have to do all the test again or not ?
I believe that you get 3 tries for each test before you have to pay the fee again.

You can call around your area just search for “CDL schools near me” and some offer payment plans or even a huge discount when paying cash
Your son can also get his school payed for by a mega carrier school such as swift or Amazon
So you need the physical before the knowledge test? Or the knowledge test is 1st??
Physical first. You can take your tests without it, but the DMV will ask you for it before handing you the permit. Apologies for any confusion!

If you own your truck, yes. If you work for a company then no. Choosing when you work would be more on the freelancing side.

Hm that sounds odd. To get your permit, you just need to pass the 3 written tests (along with your DOT physical etc.) I don’t believe anything changed unless it’s something that I am not aware of.
