I have been to Thailand and read books on people who have been to Thai prisons, if I ever considered smuggling drugs the absolute last place would be to or from Thailand.

many of the areas around the golden triangle (inside of Thailand) were used to grow opium. The late King of Thailand helped the hill tribe people replace the opium by growing things like tea and coffee instead. So it has changed a lot over the past 30 years. but the smuggling still remains a problems.

This is an insightful informative piece. Despite the drug issue that has been increasingly severe in recent years, this kind of coverage is rare in Thailand. It is a deep rooted problem that flourished because of corruption in this country. While authorities work as hard as they can, we all know that they can still sell these things because it goes to the top of our bureaucratic system.

Hell, Even the vice president of the Agriculture ministry once being arrested in Australia because of drug. And worst, Most of these big meth operation are endorse by the "Main man" of the country or in other word, The King himself too.
