- Transatlantic crossing from Southampton to New York City on the Queen Mary 2. July 29th-August 5th 2022. Followed by some days in New York where we visited Central Park, the Moma, the Met, One World Observatory, Summit One Vanderbilt, 9/11 memorial, Mmuseumm, China Town, Little Italy, The West Village, Ellis Island. Went on a day trip to Tarrytown/Sleepy Hollow and saw Beetlejuice on Broadway.

We go to NYC often and you went to at least 3-4 places I’ve never been. Every time we go I like to find things we haven’t done. A new restaurant, Museum, neighborhood. Then there all the old favorites. You went during a nice time of year.
I’m traveling NYC to England and doing 4 days or so in London. I need ideas of best things to do but we already know some. We are going June 2024 to celebrate my husbands retirement.
Hi Debbie! It's just such a place where you can explore endlessly, I'm amazed by it every time. Whenever I visit a place and I'm looking for new and unique things to do I always take a look at the website of Atlas Obscura, so that would be a fun starting point for you as well!

Hi, this looks wonderfull.. was this a round trip so from southhampton to new york and back or was it just to new york and then you have to fly back? thanks :)
For us it was just to New York and a flight back. Our flight was included though with Cunard so they arranged everything for us. Normally you fly back the same day but we emailed them and they made a change so we could fly back after 5 days and spend some time in NYC. They didn't even charge extra for doing that (we only paid 999 pounds per person, flight included which we thought was a great deal). It is possible to book going Southampton to NYC and then also go back again with the ship. They go back and forth so either you go back with the ship again the same day or you stay in the US for 2 weeks and then the ship will be back in NYC and you can join again to go back to southampton.

The Met Gallery was insane! One of the best museums I've ever visited. So much to see. It's incredible! Prepare to spend multiple hours there. Chelsea Market is open daily between 8am and 9pm but we found that before noon almost none of the businesses are open and there are almost no visitors so if you wanna have a nice experience and grab a bite go a little after noon. Hope you have an amazing trip!
