Virgin Voyages Shore Excursion - Best Dune Buggy Trip Ever! // Come along with us on our “Shore Thing” excursion, Dune Buggy and Beach, on our port day in Puerta Plata, Dominican Republic.
In this video, you'll see us explore the brand new port, Taino Bay, then you see us go on our excursion and get as dirty as we can exploring the Dominican Republic’s countryside. The most mess I had was when we did atv in Jamaica and my left leg got covered in mud.

Great video! It had everything. Action shots, commentary, comedy, drone shots were beautiful timeline great. If you wanted to bring towels and change of clothes did they hav a place for you to put it?
Much appreciated! There was a place on behind your seat in the dune buggy but if it wasn’t in some type of protective bag, it would get dirty. They did have a shower area and at the resort there was a place to get cleaned up. And i guess you could leave your stuff on the main bus, but it is unsupervised during the dune buggy part of the excursion.

Thanks for the content! We have one booked with Kelvin as well in 2 weeks! I had a couple questions, did they have showers at the 2 hour beach stop, did you guys bring a change of clothes with you for the beach stop, and did you guys muddy again when heading back to the port after the beach?
Thank you for watching 🤗 there were showers at the end of the dune buggy excursion but most people just did a quick rinse. the beach stop was at a resort that did have full showers available. We did not bring a change of clothes but we should have. I do suggest if you bring an extra set, make sure they are enclosed in a waterproof/mud proof bag. IT WILL GET WET. Even if you try to avoid the puddles. 😊 going to the dune buggies and after the dune buggies to head to the beach portion, you will be on a bus. So heading back to the port, we were safe from the mud. 👍🏽
Also, most people that simply rinsed a bit at the dune buggy location, like us, we just waited till we got to the beach to immerse in the water to get all the mud off. 👍🏽
what head mount did you use for your GoPro? I just bought a hero10 to use for my virgin voyage next month and I'm super excited and want to record everything while using the helmet for the buggy and waterfall
We use the regular GoPro branded head harness. Worked great 👍🏾

No, that lens is perfectly fine 😂 the mic was fine too, that was a covering. It was disgustingly muddy though cause it is like a sponge and just absorbed the muddy water 😂😂😂

What are the seatbelts like? Can you adjust them? I wanna do this but scared I’m not small enough.
They are similar to roller coaster seat belts but scrappy. No need to feel that. We saw people of all sizes on that excursion 🤗
Any suggestions on which time slot is best for the buggy excursion? 10:15am, 11:15am or 12:15pm?
I think we did around 11:15. that is early enough to have time to hangout in port after.
When you were done with the excursion did you have enough time to go back to the ship for a shower and then get off again to explore on your own?
Not really. We had maybe an hour or so to walk slowly through the new Taino Bay port. Like we could have stopped for lunch or dipped in the pool there but we just decided to go back to the ship.
My boo wanted to do this excursion but i was against it but i think you all convinced me this looked so fun!!! I have 2 questions is there a place to put your backpack on the buggy and do u have to get muddy on the way back after washing off in the ocean? Thanks :)
It is sooo fun 🤩 the first beach stop isn’t where you can clean up really. After the entire buggy part they give you an area to clean up with bathrooms and “showers”. You can change there if you have time. We just got semi-clean. You get back on the bus that you are originally on and go to the beach resort. That is where the majority of us got clean and changed clothes. More bathrooms and showers.👍🏽 No, there is no where on the buggy that is safe from getting dirty so take a backpack that you don’t care about getting dirty but is waterproof. 👍🏽

They took cards but also took USD 👍🏽

We booked this excursion on Virgin Voyages but we are sure there are some local vendors that you could book with or with any cruise line that visits Puerto Plata ☺️

Booking through Virgin Voyages was $65 per person 🙌🏽👍🏽 totally reasonable and worth it in our opinion because we have paid more for less involved excursions.

I wanna say a couple of hours. The dune buggy was about an hour and we spent about 2 hours at the beach, plus travel time.
