    Imagine a job where you could have a gp pay for their and your ticket to go to a theme park and you would convert them either to enthusiasts or just a roller coaster lover! That sounds like such a fun job lol

    Fun fact, Comet was my first ever rollercoaster. I was 10 or so. I haven't been to Hershey since then. I will return next year. So far I have 2 credits Comet and Sidewinder. I'll tell my story on my channel when it is time. Should have some starter content over the next few weeks. Will be a very slow build, but 2024 will be the year! Always love your Hershey vlogs. -Steps

    My amazing home park if you sit in the back on comet and loosen the seatbelt enough it gives you the best airtime i have ever felt on a wooden coaster. Also that is the longest i have ever seen lightning racers line

    The only thing I miss about being a Newbie or GP is that stomach dropping feeling; my favourite sensation a coaster can provide. But I know which coasters would best deliver that feeling if I weren't so used to it. ;)

    Awww bless, Lance is a real trooper👍🏻 I think I have to agree with you, it’s so hard to choose between Wildcat’s Revenge and Skyrush. Riding Wildcat at night was absolutely insane and worth the 2 hour wait. That’s only my second RMC, but definitely excited for more in the future. After a little experiment on Skyrush, I concluded that the seat on the track gives more ejector airtime vs the one off, however my friends didn’t love it as much as me because of the restraints. And after such wonderful memories on Lightning Racer, I was kinda bummed that the latter half of the ride was kinda rickety and janky. We actually liked Comet a lot better for a woodie. Love to Hershey and keep on keeping on✌🏻🍫🎢💛

    I lived only a couple minutes from Hershey park my whole life so far and I’ve gone a bunch, and even worked there through fall/winter in 2021. I get motion sickness though and am kinda afraid of heights so even though I’ve gone a lot I’ve never done any roller coaster. I’m gonna be 19 in a couple of days btw

    ...When I was moving beyond coaster-phobia to liking coasters, much like him, I found that being OK with inversions was just a matter of doing it for the first time. My first coaster that went upside down was Loch Ness Monster at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. That taught me that inversions weren't that scary and that was enough.
    Getting past the "butterflies in stomach" feeling on drops took much longer. I think it was only in the past couple of years that I started hungering for ejector airtime. But now I'm getting old and forceful inversions with strong positive Gs are starting to get to me because my body can't take what it used to. I love the ride while I'm on it but I have to sit down for a while afterward. Dragon Khan at PortAventura was actually too much, while Shambhala felt like it could have kicked harder and been fine.

  • @MattMcIrvin
    @MattMcIrvin Před 10 měsíci +1

    Hersheypark was my favorite amusement park when I was a kid, and it was *because* I was a terrified kid and Hersheypark had a lot of really nice low-thrill family rides, some of which aren't around any more. That was when they only had a few coasters, and the only one I was willing to ride was Trailblazer. sooperdooperLooper was some kind of impossible terror I could only watch from afar.
    I went back once as an adult, but it was with a little kid, so my coastering was limited and I was only able to ride a couple of big coasters--Fahrenheit and sooperdooperLooper. And they were great! I also rode Trailblazer again with my kid. (That was long enough ago that Fahrenheit was relatively new and it was before Skyrush.) But I'd love so much to go back there and tackle some of the rest.

    Skyrush is something else. It has layers of intensity that is not a foregone conclusion to most. I don't think i've ever been more addicted to a roller coaster in my life. The beast is great on its own, but the ride experience is unbelievable if you look at it from a strategic perspective. There is no other restraint that allows you to thrust your body into lateral moments, making them inconstant, varied or sustained. It all depends on how you sit in the damn seat, even before pulling the lap bar down when boarding. The cutback and stengel dive are just some examples that offer completely different GY forces - right wing cutback: -gy. left wing cutback: +gy. When leaning forward into the stengel dive: +gy than +gy. When leaning back against the seatback into the stengel dive: +gy than -gy. Thrusting your body to the left against the seatback during the lateral s-bend: sustained three second positive gy. Thrusting body to the left when not against the seat during lateral s-bend: non-linear +gy jolt forward. Back row right wing leaning to the right at first drop pullout: sustained -gy. The list just goes on. There is no other coaster that applies a stronger command of lateral force variance to abnormally represent itself, it's unreal. No other coaster meets my expectations as much as this one does.

    • @colintca0949
      @colintca0949 Před 10 měsíci

      I’ve noticed that more recently. Sometimes the ejector is more pronounced, and other times I feel the laterals more. Usually I strike a good balance but every ride on it manages to feel slightly different. I would ride more if the park can get two train ops going, one train kills capacity there and it hits an hour plus every time I go.

    • @appliedforcesJYG
      @appliedforcesJYG Před 10 měsíci

      @@colintca0949 The ejector is redundant. I was certain in the end that laterals would be the primary force, since they can be devised and built upon by the rider. This was a feeling slowly simmering under the surface, but after 10 rides it finally felt natural.

    You NEED to cme to the UK. You NEED to visit Alton Towers, Thorpe Park and Blackpool Pleasure beach. You should also visit Chessington. We have the worlds biggest Legoland. You can miss Drayton Manor, Flamingo land, Gulliver's world, Oakwood and Paulton's Park. But the 3 or 4 I said at the start are go toos. Alton towers has the smiler. The most inverting coaster in the world and also at alton, all of the main rollercoasters have either broke records or been first in Europe or ethen the world (take that cedar point). Thorpe and Alton have amazing coasters and I have no idea how Blackpool fit Icon in. Chessington is a bit like Animal Kingdom. Hope to see you come soon (ideally after Nemesis has it's re-track finished and Hyperia opens) this is a copy and pasted comment of mine from an older video

    I wanted to love Skyrush, and I didnt think the restraints were that bad, but the layout had so many dead spots imo, and the entire ride felt like it focused on intensity and speed over airtime, while at the same time, managing to not feel fast or that intense. My rides on Magnum XL 200 made Skyrush feel like a family coaster.
