I enjoy watching reality tv because it usually has personality disordered people-for better or worse. I don’t think Ollie is a narcissist however. He certainly has a lot of maturing and self awareness to gain. I think he has an avoidant attachment style and his ADHD doesn’t help because he wants to run away, not be vulnerable, and even gaslight others (and himself) whenever he feels pressured emotionally. Ollie’s motives are not self centered or are devoid of empathy like a narcissist such as Sam-who seems more of the overt kind. But if you ask me, the other, more covert narcissist seems to be Catherine. Catherine strikes me as someone who slowly starts making their partner feel insecure and become a shell of their former self by continually failing to make them happy. She never seems satisfied, openly disrespects Freddie with Sam of all people, feels the need to be right on matters that don’t matter for her ego’s sake, and punishes Freddie for being honest and vulnerable. She comes across as someone who emotionally abuses her partner in such subtle ways to avoid the fact that she is deeply insecure. Thankfully Freddie’s sister noticed Freddie’s change in demeanor and pointed out that she has been undermining Freddie’s confidence as a means to control him. Hopefully Freddie takes her advice to ask himself if she’s good enough for him.
Yes, but i also do not believe in the good interest of his sister. Dont forget about the prenup. Shes going to get everything what is kinda odd. So there is.something wrong too.
@@zc2731The sister liked Cat, but she said it's been a long time since she's seen her brother amd he seemed more reserved. His sister was excited about Cat, but when Freddie started expressing his concerns to her, that's when she got concerned. She wants him to be happy which is understandable
Pretty sure that Ollie will say no at the altar. He didn’t introduce his family nor friends to Demi… he is clearly not physically attracted to Demi and passes the vibe of a man that give upmost importance to looks
I was shocked when they went back to London together. I was certain he was gonna wait for a reason to get out of the relationship (in this case, the pressure of the show and seeing other couples and whatever, I thought he would take that as his out), but when they actually started getting along and working things out…. I still don’t trust him and it’ll definitely be a no at the altar (Demi deserves better)
I think Ollie will say no also. I don't get a good vibe from him. I also don't think Tom and Maria will make it. Too many fundamental issues with money. He wants her to work and make money and she seems like she wants to stay home with future kids (at least for the first few years) and thinks he should pay for everything. Catherine and Freddie won't make it either in my opinion. She seems shady to me. I like Sabrina and Steven. I think they will say yes. I also think Jasmine and Bobby will make it as long as her overbearing mother minds her own business. She can take care of herself.
I read somewhere that Demi did meet Ollie's family but it was edited out. If that is true then that is Netflix playing games again, trying to create or enhance a situation. But regardless, I don't think Ollie will say yes. Demi is not "sublime" to him!!
Thing is I don't know how Sam has any connection with women. There was no .. banter or flow? He can't hold a conversation at all! How did anyone even through the wall not see that?
The background music during that scene was crazy, they made it seem like he revealed he has a month left to live or something lol. Don’t get me wrong, his feelings and struggles/insecurities are totally valid, but ADHD is quite common so I just feel like it was weird to have it be SO serious in that moment.
Especially being overwhelmed in the group setting. He was being dismissive as much as he was trying to manage his own emotions due to the over stimulation..
Immediate sub, man. You're transparent and logical. Clocked every single thought I had while watching the show, and you have a refreshing and coherent take on it. Looking forward to more of your content!
You don’t touch on Ollie at the get together when people who didn’t get engaged meet everyone else. Ollie told his friends “no other woman could turn my head” then 2 seconds later a woman turned his head a he was being disrespectful saying “whooo omg sharlotte (or whatever her name is) is fiiiinnnee oh my god”
Your thoughts= my thoughts😊...I would also love to do a deep dive on Catherine..she also displayed narcissistic tendencies throughout the show starting with how she felt she would be Ollie's type over Demi outside of the pods to how she treats Freddie outside of the pods and then plays victim and blames her rudeness on her adoption when he brings up valid concerns. Mam enoughhhh!
Well! You got the point on Jasmine! She caught him first, she said I feel you are giving me all the right answers.. and for multiple times, that was it for her! Really.. she knew his core.
I don’t think the pod dates are boring. I love watching people pfall in love! I’m not keen on producer-manufactured drama by way of hopeful influencers. So I love this UK season!
Initially I was upset with Nicole for ignoring the red flags Sam was sending, but now I feel bad for her and I hope she’s okay. She broke it off with him as soon as she realized he was not it. I like her and Benaiah together and hopefully they’re still married. If she’s watching the show now, she’s probably seeing all the hurtful things Sam was saying in the guys quarters that she wouldn’t know otherwise.
Yup. It was so clear. It wasn't Nicole's intentions to cut it off. She went along with everything until the signs could no longer be hidden. When Sam turned down her intimacy it solidified what she knew. Sam never liked her, he only wanted to be on the show. Nothing more, nothing less. Also Sam, "seeking" Nicole's approval, was damage control. He couldn't care less about Nicole...
What a great idea to avoid stuttering. My aunt has one and it really impacted her life. Also what a beautiful man. You look like you should be on the cover of I-D magazine.
This is the most spot on review that I've seen thus far. You've clocked Sam's alter ego, Nicole's insecurities, Beniah's need for a home, Catherine's desperation, Ollie's games, Maria's delusions, Tom's disinterest, & Demi's denial.... These are jokers at their full potential!
I love Freddie, but I get Cat's complaint that he jokes too much. It's hard to have a deep relationship with someone like that. But I also think he kept joking to try and break the tension that she refused to address and communicate about. However, the house thing was ABSURD. The fact he doesn't get that really shows he's not ready for marriage.

@@dumfriesspearhead7398 Here she is talking about all the horrible men in the show but Catherine is the worst femenine representation of all. She holds red flags all over herself, trying to blame Freddy for the only reason she is on Netflix: fame
I like Ollie. It's typical for ADHD'ers to overshare. I simply think he shares his healthy doubt out loud where a filter would have been smarter since it's tv.
Just stumbled across your channel. I train voices in UK & US and admire your presentation hugely. So entertaining & well observed. Thanks for covering our Brit version of Love is Blind, you have all our English ways nailed, and your British accent is impressive too! Keep doing what you’re doing, it’s such a positive inspiration for other presenters, stutterers or otherwise. X
Aaaah your personality is just so enjoyable, I‘m so glad I found you through the MaxXxine video! Short side note: The way Sam frames him denying sex to protect (his) respect for Nicole sounds deeply misogynistic. Now, I haven’t watched the series. But it sounds here that a) he doesn’t take her consent seriously, because as a man, he knows better and b) something akin to the Madonna-Whore where HE can’t respect her, let alone as wifey material, if she‘s “putting out”. Good thing she got out as fast as she could, this “holier than thou”-image cultivating type is the WORST. Also genuinely not easy to spot straight away, don’t blame her
As someone who has watched the series, I think it was more about selling this gentleman persona. Keep in mind they were engaged at the time and presumably he thought it would stay that way and he'd have another opportunity. So to me it felt like he could hold onto saying no the first time so that he had a crutch in any argument about lacking respect in the future. I'm just speculating though
I saw through Sam when he said I was not going to let this one pass me by. Like if he doesn’t get a connection there it’s going to be a mess to his personality. Then when he saw Nicole he said you can put on a wedge, to me telling someone that because of their height the first day of seeing them is disrespectful. No kisses or show of emotions.
Lmao spot on about why we watch reality tv. I was just thinking yesterday about how sometimes I’ll feel like my life is a little boring and then I’ll watch reality tv or read Reddit and the mess makes me think “thank God my life is boring”
There are some normal-ish people in this show.. i say ISH cause they still signed up for marrying someone in a couple of weeks and in front of the world.. but I think them being normal-ish is why there's more couples than the American version which were all crazy people in need of therapy.
Yeah, this cast definitely comes across a lot more level headed and well adjusted. I give it another season or two before it becomes a copy-paste of the recent US seasons. With accents 😂
@@stutter_box ah yes, definitely will be a full-trash TV show by next season. But it's a nice break from influencer wannabes (or obvious ones) for now. We really take what we can get ^^. Love your channel and commentary, it's top notch!
I can't even imagine how it would be if Nicole and Sam made it to the island and they saw the other people. In the end she trusted her gut but she had to see it to believe it. It would be the same as Ollie. Good for her Beniah didn't have another connection. All things Ollie were painful enough to watch. Reminds me of Too hot to handle whenever a new guest comes up and people change their minds. But yes, we need chemistry and physical atraction, in the end. Even if they had all the connection in the world and had seen each others photos for instance or a short video, when you meet in person... Sometimes there isn't a flame, or your gut just says something. Even if the person is attractive, you may not have chemistry...
He's pretending to be attracted to Demi, but his actions says the opposite. He likes her understanding and empathy, but he's not attracted to her and I hope they don't marry. She deserves someone who actually cares for her, but she'll also need to develop a sense of self worth before embarking on another relationship.
OMG yes! I've only watched 2 episodes and came looking for someone talking about him. When he was on a date with Jasmin-it was all about what she can do for him, then throwing the glass and being emotionally unstable...typical narc 😨Any girl should run from him!
Sam didn’t put the ring on the wrong finger- she did. He didn’t even think to put the ring on her finger! She took it out of the box and then put it on herself. 😑Throw the whole thing away!
I LOVE how you don’t mince your words!! Also new subscriber! LOVED this video(!) now I need to watch the rest of your catalog! Saltburn!? Baby Reindeer!? Chappell Roan!? It Ends with Us!? I’m buckled in 😁
I don't think it's hard to see why someone would want to date someone "sight unseen". People want to be in relationships and the people that they attract aren't the best. So why not try love is blind?
I'm so surprised you didn't pick up on Catherine being a female Narcissist. She showed all the signs: love bombing in the pods, devaluing Freddie the whole time on vacation. She took the smile right off his face. She's so similar to Sam. They both had a sob story that would get immediate sympathy for them and their toxic behaviors. No other couples did this except those 2. I guess it's more difficult to detect narcissism in women. Or maybe some men just call it being bi*chy.
Yeah I definitely didn’t read it as that initially. She spoke a lot about her adoption and feeling unwanted/rejected, so I was reading her more as incredibly insecure and looking for validation rather than narcissism (even her nagging Freddie or snapping, I saw that as her own frustrations projecting, rather than him being annoying). I’d say women are definitely better at hiding it, or maybe men are simply too obvious about it
Love your analysis! So spot on! Sams red flags have been driving me crazy, he just needs to start loving himself and not to expect the outside world to fill this big black hole inside of him. Watching him is like watching a 5 year old in the body of a grown man. He is evolving around himself, a walking unconscious ego. Thank you for adressing all the awkward moments! Really laughed about your suggestion, the producers should step in and say: you know what? Let’s better get not married 😂
I actually want to watch this but I'm a VH1/51 Minds veteran used to the Of Love series, Tool Academy (& Tool Academy UK) & Megan Wants a Millionaire. The UK shows are always so much more wild. There was also that UK show a couple years ago where the cast offs get dropped through a trap door in the stage...just glorious.
Sam is narcissistic but very weak narcissist. The dangerous narcissists are very sneaky and smooth in love bombing, taking control and making a good impression. Like Trevor in LIB US latest season (not diagnosing him, just saying his game was strong). They are so skillful in pretending to be sweet and kind and genuine that when their mask comes off, you feel stupid for not having a clue all along .
Agree, Sam is so obvious. Most people can see right through him. Trevor still blows my mind. It's scary how convincing he was. I fell for it: hook, line, and sinker. Men like Trevor are truly dangerous because you don't know who you're dealing with until it's too late.
Hey from Germany, i looove your humor and sarcasm, that makes my trash TV addiction even nicer. Will follow you and hope for more content like this. CU
I will never understand why people think Sam is attractive. But I agree that he's a CLEAR red flag. Just going through the motions...saying what he thinks they want to hear. It's so obvious.
I don’t find Sam so evil, but uninteresting. Beniah….He said he doesn’t currently have an address, that’s a huge red flag to me. What is his plan to ‘settle down’ after leading a gypsy like lifestyle for a while? UK version is entertaining, my second favorite after Japan. I couldn’t stand the US versions, quit after the first season
I've been Beniah. I've been 'homeless' living that gypsy life, then I got a cat, and now I can barely stand to leave him for a weekend! I settled down for a cat. Beniah will settle down for Nicole if it works out between them. Also, she seemed keen to travel with him.
It turned out It was Nicole who ended it and Sam wasn't pleased about it, hence the story regarding him not being physical the first night. Apparently it didn't happen. Sam had to admit this at the reunion
I'm pleased you called Olli out. Whenever a man refrains from having sex with a woman in this kind of show, it never works out. I think that Olli has also weaponised his ADHD. If he was with Cat or Sharlotte then it wouldn't be mentioned or he'd keep tabs on it. It seems that Demi is doing all of the emotional labour in this relationship; there's little or no reciprocation here. Olli doesn't love Demi; he loves what she DOES for him. I hope they don't get married; I can just see him making eyes at the bridesmaids at the wedding.
Demi feels it. I think what is happening is that his words may not match his actions, which leaves her feeling confused and insecure. She seems unhappy with him but blames herself. I feel sorry for her, and I don't think they're a good match.
I've only watched a few episodes, but I had to jump on CZcams to see what was being said, Sam appears to be the villan but I honestly don't think he was the worst of the guys I just think he wasn't as good at hiding his motives. Nicole is the classic female that ignores all the 🚩🚩 because she was given ample warning. Ollie just needs to be single.
Sam never told any of the girls about his plastic surgery. I know you should not talk about your physique too much, but I'm sorry, he's not even the fart. He projects this cliché fantasy on them. The greatest love story... Yeah but what happens in the story? I mean this is for show but also reflects so well how unhealthy we are as a society. I am glad Beniah was there for Nicole, she almost ruined it trusting Sam. Sam is insecure and fake. Beniah did hesitate which doesn't help, but in the end they seem to be a match. I also don't understand how blind Demi is, Ollie is feeding off of her insecurities for clout. Jasmine's mom is a bit too much but she seems to have strong boundaries. I mean you made your choices, had two marriages which didn't work, your daughter can have a different and positive experience. But with all being said, I could never be on the show. These people are crazy and brave despite their motives. Great analysis, thanks!
If Demi really likes Ollie romantically, that wedding is gonna hurt me personally if he only sees her as a friend. If she's spent a lot of time as one of the guys, I relate so hard. Ugh ..
When you listen real carefully Sam said I had two strong connections one dumped me now I just go to Nicole she was really a option standby baby run girl run ..
I really enjoy listening to your videos while drawing. In a previous video, you mentioned Dear Evan Hansen and asked if folks would be interested in hearing you talk about it. I wanted to say, absolutely. I discovered the musical through news of the movie adaptation, and when I first found out what the plot premise was, my reaction was, "Is this a gender-flipped version of While You Were Sleeping?!" It's not a 1:1 same plot, but there's some lines you can draw between the two stories.
I definitely have that in the pipeline, along so many others. Too many choices is a prison! That’s a great point actually, I’ll definitely rewatch while you were sleeping (Sandra Bullock is my favourite actress of all time) to see what the parallels are. Also, love that you draw while listening, I’ve always wanted people to just have my videos as background company, I’m glad you’re on board! 🤗

@@karenvermeulen3981 Definitively.
That was because he likes to joke around and Cat kept complaining about it so he couldn't be himself. Freddie and his sister love their brother dearly. Freddie said if he were to pass away his sister would take care of his brother that's why he would leave his assets to her. He loves his family.
@@stutter_box definitely! In some way he reminds me of Clay from the last US season of love is blind.
@@mimate oh yeah, he's a Clay for sure
I think for Ollie, when he reveals that he has ADHD, it made total sense the way he was sometimes behaving.
My bf also has it and yes, I completely agree. I definitely recognised the behaviours. That said, I still think he’s gonna say no 😓
The background music during that scene was crazy, they made it seem like he revealed he has a month left to live or something lol. Don’t get me wrong, his feelings and struggles/insecurities are totally valid, but ADHD is quite common so I just feel like it was weird to have it be SO serious in that moment.
@@stutter_boxi don’t.
@@notamberphe has a severe case and yes, it was a big moment because it helped is make sense if a lot of things.
Especially being overwhelmed in the group setting. He was being dismissive as much as he was trying to manage his own emotions due to the over stimulation..
I spotted the narcissistic soul of Sam in the first 3 minutes… but on the other hand, we have a toxic female too! It’s Kat
Immediate sub, man. You're transparent and logical. Clocked every single thought I had while watching the show, and you have a refreshing and coherent take on it. Looking forward to more of your content!
Same🎉🎉😂😂
You don’t touch on Ollie at the get together when people who didn’t get engaged meet everyone else. Ollie told his friends “no other woman could turn my head” then 2 seconds later a woman turned his head a he was being disrespectful saying “whooo omg sharlotte (or whatever her name is) is fiiiinnnee oh my god”
He’s not blind! 🙄
Yes.. he inquired for a hot second and went back to engaging with the guys..
The disdain towards Ollie is unreal.
I agree; Catherine has red flags for sure.
Her giving Freddie the silent treatment was juvenile and cringey, showing a complete lack of communication and maturity.
“Same mess different accents” 😂
Just remember that the producers will ALWAYS cast a villain.
Well! You got the point on Jasmine! She caught him first, she said I feel you are giving me all the right answers.. and for multiple times, that was it for her! Really.. she knew his core.
stutter box is such a cool name !!! so happy i found this channel
This is the first time I have come across your channel and I just love how you dissect and pull apart all the BS. So refreshing.
Here for the ever evolving backdrop and witty repartee.
A new adventure at every turn 😂
When you said it was getting harder to defend Nicole I understood that 100% I’m still upset with her she has a terrible picker
Only 3 minutes in and I just have to say your eyes are so pretty and I love listening cause I’m a introvert 😂
The quickness with which I clicked on this video!
I like hearing from someone who gets British nuances!
Background was well done! Also Freddy is a dreamboat!
Agreed, beautifully done! 💯
@@noelleirina5628imo, why should she be entitled to any part of a house she didn’t contribute to? lol.. she didn‘t even know him when he bought the house..
@@taekookielover1985 BECAUSE THEY ARE MARRIED. are you joking??? You expect her to live in that house for decades, raise her kids there, and then just get kicked out in case they divorce?? That's insane!

You didn’t even need clips. Here for the commentary and the defense of women against these horrible men that Netflix keeps foisting upon us! Looking forward to more recaps 🙏🏿
Tell me about Catherine, please😂
@@susanagarcia9646Why? We hear about Catherine ALL THE TIME in different forums.
I am not watching this show, but off course I am watching your videos!!! Glad to see you Portuguese Queen!!!
Oh is he Portuguese? He does look it, such a gorgeous face 😊
Sam does NOT have a pretty face. I agree with you for everything else about him tho😒
I disagree that the participants are incredibly desperate. It could also be that a few of them are very intentional about dating.
Why comment when you haven't seen the show? Comment just to comment?
Perfect analysis. Ollie is really a gaslighter
I disagree..
He's pretending to be attracted to Demi, but his actions says the opposite.
He likes her understanding and empathy, but he's not attracted to her and I hope they don't marry.
She deserves someone who actually cares for her, but she'll also need to develop a sense of self worth before embarking on another relationship.
3.10 to 3.20 is my life LITERALLY

Your commentary is absolutely hilarious. Witty and insightful too. I’ll be back for more. ❤ ❤❤🎉🎉🎉😂😂😂
Lmao fr Sam like who are THEY and what do THEY think 😂😂😂😂😂
I’d say women are definitely better at hiding it, or maybe men are simply too obvious about it
Love from Dallas! ❤

Men like Trevor are truly dangerous because you don't know who you're dealing with until it's too late.
a few of them talk like used car salesmen......narcissism alert 🤣
You are saying everything I've been thinking about this show. Loved your analysis🥂
Thank you for watching it for us😅. Enjoyed the review. My sister also enjoyed your video.
This was very entertaining, thanks for that! 😊
Am i the only one who thinks Catherine is fake and is here for the wrong reasons like sam?
Yup, a video on the reunion is coming tomorrow 😅
Skip’s appearance at the end made my day
This is the best of the CZcams things on this show. You are engaging and perceptive

Perfect commentary. Loved this video so much ❤
I'm pleased you called Olli out.

@@stutter_box OK I missed that part lol
Olie and Demi share the purest vibe... hope that they end up together at least
If Demi really likes Ollie romantically, that wedding is gonna hurt me personally if he only sees her as a friend. If she's spent a lot of time as one of the guys, I relate so hard. Ugh ..
