I've watched this video so many times and never tire of it. When there's a clip of a cockatoo who isn't named I always know when it's Chris because he always has a make shift baton in his hand ( yes, I know I said hand) swinging it back and forth as he's directing an orchestra. He's a very happy, well loved and cated for cockatoo. He helps to make up for all the misunderstood, badly treated, abandoned and rehomed a zillion times cockatoos out there. They're so intelligent and emotionally sensitive. You can never choose a cockatoo, they all choose their human and once they do, there is an unbreakable bond. ❤
Honestly I’ve had cats and dogs my whole life but adopting a Senegal parrot proved the most intelligent animal I’ve ever experienced. Lucky, my parrot, is so emotionally intelligent and bonded to me it’s unreal. I don’t even like to say I ‘own’ her because in all honesty, she chose me and has me so well trained that it feels more like she owns me 😂 It’s a real privilege to have such a smart creature care for you, and I can confidently say my parrot saved my life. It was a serious but surprise health situation where Lucky knew something was wrong and broke out of her cage to wake me. Turned out I was internally bleeding in my sleep and if she hadn’t woke me up (I called 911 immediately because I couldn’t stand then passed out again. Woke in the ICU having a blood transfusion next). Somehow Lucky knew what was wrong, despite it being within my normal sleep hours, and did everything to make me conscious. She absolutely saved my life and knows still when I’m really sick (she goes into a worried state when I need to go to the hospital- she’s never been wrong even once). These days my health is stable and she doesn’t have to watch for me like she did, I can just spoil her and give her the best life possible 💚🦜

I think it’s so cute when animals “fall in love” with humans. It’s a different kind of love and look in their eye than how they feel about their caregiver or pack leader. Like this story and him wanting to call Barbara. 😍 My husbands dog fell in love with my grown up, moved out of the house daughter. He would act so silly and flirty when she would come over. It was so cute.
They're so loving. My golphin (40) obsessively grooms me. It freaks my family out that I let him clean my eyelashes, but I trust him, and he's so gentle, he's even slept on my neck all night, when we 1st rescued him.❤
I grew up with my mom who would rescue and foster birds. Amazing creatures. I'm hoping when I can work less hours (I'm a RN and I work 12-14 hrs a shift), to rescue a bird to shower love and attention on!❤❤❤❤
