Li Mei requires significantly more effort than most characters
I think it’s worth it though, sort of like Jacqui in MK11. Mastering those bionic bounce and energy overdrive combos weren’t the easiest either.

Can you make some videos on Tanya please. I started playing her a few days ago but nobody plays her so I can’t find any gameplay. I’ve been watching dragon tourneys from last month to try and learn how to play her better.
Li mei is NOT cheap lol she has difficult combo windows that take labbing, tons of gaps, no safety, and to get above 30% u gotta use a combo extending cameo thereby sacrificing mix up potential.
Every time beat my kenshi player friends with li mei after doing a 57% they say I’m only winning because shes easy.😂

Why video quality bad?
People say li mei is bad but has anyone actually seen her frame data? She has almost as much plus frames as Johnny!
But she has gaps everywhere
Li Mei is my second most used char. She is so fun to play, but unfortunately even with the + frames she is just mid tier. None of her + frames are real, and she has 1 extremely stubby 1 hit mid to enforce/confirm anything off them. B3 is so slow it's pokeable on reaction, b34 has a pokeable gap, f21 both enders have pokeable gaps. Yea she can end stuff in EX projectle Wich is 0 on block, but it's always a high and never jails... She has great dmg, and a solid reversal game. But other than that... U can just mash in her all day... Half lifeing kids every touch is and will always be fun tho lol.
@@punkerguy805 trust me, on 70+ ping with good spacing no one is reacting to her b3. And it's plus, so you can keep the pressure going. She's stubby for sure and def not a top tier, but saying her pressure isn't real feels like downplaying
I mean... The B3 wiffs like outside of basically everyone's d1 range... It's 17 frames on startup, and it's +3... The only thing it guarantees is a d1. Her only other mid is B2... Wich is 12 frames. So... If u execute perfectly, it becomes a 9 frame mid. Wich gets beat by any d1... If she follows with a high... Gets beat by d1... Ur only real option is a throw, Wich can be full combo punished... And not to mention, if the B3 or B2 connect it's a 1 button hit confirm... Just because you sometimes have high ping, doesn't make a char better or worse... I don't think it's downplaying to say she's a mid tier char. She's not top 10, she's not bottom 3... She's mid.
Her +frames aren't what makes her viable.
I do think she's underplayed, which results in people just not knowing the mu... Which in that case ya.. if the gaps never get blown up shes god tier.
@@punkerguy805 I get what you're saying, though I beg to differ on her b3 whiffing at d1 range. There are some exceptions (mileena off the top of my head), but you can whiff punish most d1s with her b3 if you back dash off her plus frames. It's what I do when I catch people poking at least. Hit them with a couple 45+ combos off of that whiff and suddenly they'll just eat all your pressure in my experience, even higher ranks. It's obviously not flawless and it's a lotta mind games, but it's a solid strat. What I thought was downplaying was saying her pressure ain't real. I do agree she's mid tier considering the rest of the cast, but not that far from top 10 imo

Well if you spot them poking on your plus frames repeatedly, back dash for them to whiff and full combo punish off her b34 or her b2. Obviously there's more to it but it's an idea
@@daniell.raharitahiana5727 yeah I've been conditioning them with the b34 and the back 2? The mid two hand attack and when they stop neutral ducking I can do my regular string I also mix in forward 4 and forward 3 I think
