I watched this and used it as closely as possible adding in Spinball, Mine Train, and Octonauts, and we had an extremely successful day on Monday, July 1, 2024 (did buy two solo Fast tracks). We were visiting from the US and had to get every coaster in one day and it was fairly busy in park. Hit Spinball (5 min) first, then straight to Rita (5 min). Unfortunately 13 was closed to start the day. Went straight to Galactica (15 min) and then Nemesis (35 min). Went up to the Mine Train (20 min) grabbed a quick snack and made our way to Oblivion that had an hour wait so we bought a Fast Track (10 min) for that and then Smiler had a 2 hour wait so we also got Fast Track (30 min) for that. By then we were making our way to Woodcutters to eat around 2 pm and 13 opened so we ran there from the restaurant and walked right on it before the line hit 90 minutes almost immediately. We finished up with Gangsta Granny and Curse of Alton Manor before hitting Octonauts. We had ERT on Wicker Man after the park closed so we did skip that one all day since it had over an hour wait all day long. Thanks so much this video helping us out to have an amazing day at Alton!!
Oh wow, I'm glad you had a great time! Thanks for letting me know :)
Going Alton Towers this Thursday. I'll use this and report back my findings when I return home.
I hope you have a great time!
Watched this on Saturday before my visit yesterday. Followed your plan as closely as possible and we managed to get on everything with under a 30 minute queue (15 min average). The only difference is that Thirteen was shut at the beginning of the day but we completed the other 6 rides by 2pm on a busy Sunday! This was with some of the rides peaking at 70 minutes at points (Nemesis, Galactica, Smiler). We had enough time to go to Curse, Sub Terra, Rapids, Mine Train and Nemesis before going down to Thirteen at 5pm. Thanks for the video!
Oh wow, I'm actually gassed that it worked in practice! I wasn't sure how well it would work on a real day. Thanks for letting me know - I really appreciate it!
I recommend do forbidden valley rides first if you have the hotel entrance make your way there to 13 and Rita etc
Hotel entrance changes the game!
First! Exciting stuff - so we had a pretty terrible day on March 23 and got free tickets and same ultimate fast tracks for when we return... so I guess we'll just use this guide! Thanks ha
Ah, that's not an awful outcome. With fast track, I think I would be tempted to just follow the longest queues around so I really feel like I'm making the most of it hahaha
Wow, how did you convince guest services to give you that?
@@TheOfficialSmudgy Oh already had unlimited fast tracks, but we didn't get the most out of them by far given how bad a day it was. They'd given out tens of thousands of stuff that day.. it was bayad
@@coaster_shark well second time around I think I may just make a 10 minute queue ZERO minutes haha
Splendid video!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
your content is so good !! keep it up
Thanks! I'm glad you're enjoying it! :)
Great video! And pleased to see my preferred ride order is fit for purposw
Thanks! It's always nice when the maths proves you right isn't it!
@coaster_shark Sure is! Next time I'm with friends I'll be like "We're doing it this way because the maths says so"
Can't argue with that can they!
Thorpe park version please? 👀
Will do! I was going to wait until hyperia opens first though or else it's a bit pointless really
Oh yea for sure
Might do a Chessington or blackpool version in the meantime though, I've got the code now so can do whatever I want
I’m going on a insect day so this is the order I’m ainimg for:
Th13teen
Rita
Oblivion
Smiler
Wickerman
Nemesis Reborn
Galactica
Sounds like a good plan - I hope you have a great time!
@@coaster_shark Thanks!
In an ideal world where disability, ride closures, requirements for sustenance, the people I'm with wanting to do other rides multiple times, and whatever else might come up aren't an issue, I'd go Nemesis, Galactica, Wickerman, Sealife, Smiler, Oblivion, Rita, then finish with Thirteen. It's a nice clean path without needing to navigate the gardens, has a nice cool down period with one of my other special interests, and starts off with Nemesis which is the sister of my comfort coaster Inferno and therefore is a perfect way to quell some morning anxiety. If there's time I'd want to finish on The Smiler since it's my favourite rollercoaster even if I've only had the chance to ride it once (Would have been twice but I didn't understand that closing time meant last time you can enter a queue and therefore I had ample time to get back into the queue T_T)
Ahhh sustenance is over rated ;) that's a good order though, got to respect the sea life in the middle - I always stop off at battle galleons on the way past to soak some strangers and have some fun
@@coaster_shark I think I may bring a packed lunch next time admittedly. Likely would save me some time and money and save me from having a really dodgy overpriced pizza.
Oh yeah, my friends always laugh at me, but I always take a packed lunch. Mainly, it's just on principle that I refuse to pay for overpriced food, but I also just love snacking in the queues
my ideal scenario is nemmy, curse, sub terra, oblivion ans smiler then im happy
Shove in river rapids and its perfect 👌
@@coaster_shark oh ye forgot abt that lmao
For me I did wickerman thirteen Rita, galactica nemesis, smiler oblivion.
Sounds like a good order tbf. Wicker Man is probably the easiest to get to first thing
I still dont know how you dont atleast have 20k subs
Hahaha maybe one day! I'm still pretty amazed with where I am now to be honest!
i feel like doing galactica first is still the move tho, and then going over to dark forest and then wickerman, then smiler then oblivion, etc
thas what i did last year, however nemesis is there now but it still seems like Galactica in the morning when u arrive is the move
I think the issue with that is by doing Galactica first, you either have to deal with Nemesis' insanely long queue at the start of the day, or walk all the way back to Forbidden Valley later on. It's just so far from anything else that you lose too much time walking around the park
@@coaster_shark went there today and got on 13 rides, galactica 3 times
nemesis 2 times (one in the rain) queues being 5 mins pretty much all day
thirteen
smiler
oblivion
wickerman
rapids
runaway minetrain (as a joke cuz queues were short all day lol)
etc
That sounds like an absolute dream
@@coaster_shark haha, it was awesome, felt like i had a free FastTrack all day, quietest day I've seen at alton
excited to learn how to have the most british day as an american, seems like a blast
Hahaha got to experience the true culture when you can ;)
@@coaster_shark my girlfriend is from Southampton so I get it just a little lmao. Hope you come out to the states to experience our coasters out here. My home park is magic mountain and I'm going to Florida and japan in the summer!
Oh I'd love to at some point! I hope you have a great time in Japan, I went last year - Fuji-Q Highland and Nagashima Spa Land had some absolutely crazy coasters!
Rita opens late right? They don’t all open at park open, was this factored in?
I don't think it's meant to. It just usually breaks down first thing lol
I always try to start in dark forest... Intamin says otherwise though
Ahh yeah wouldn't be Rita if it didn't break down first thing ;)
Doing this speed run now...
5th in the queue for Rita @0940...
Oooo let me know how it goes! Although I can't imagine it's very busy today anyway?
*coaster bot left the chat*
That was actually one of the channels that convinced me I could make videos tbf!
This is purely throetical. In actuality the queues will be different on different days and breakdowns happen more than expected.
Oh yeah it doesn't give you any time to go to the toilet or eat or go on any other rides either - but it was fun for me to do and I thought it makes a nice enough thought experiment for a video
@@coaster_shark it's always nice to think we can get everything done in one day
I'm at the point where I admit that I have to take a day off work and go mid week to get on everything I want now :/ especially considering how long my friends like to spend at lunch or walking from one end of the park to the other repeatedly lol
I’m off to towers at the end of the month. I will follow this guide report back 🫡
I hope you have a great time!
