  • Finally, I got round to covering my Audi's steering wheel.
    I've put the link on where to buy the leather cover in my previous video on the steering wheel arrival.
    Here's the link to BMAC CarMods on how to stitch the steering wheel:

    Central bolt is a M12 XZN? thanks

    That’s not a torx that’s a triple square 12mm if I’m correct. I’m thinking about putting a 6 bolt steering wheel adapter made for a b5 on my 2004 b6 but if I’m right I should be able to use the adapter and it should fit the same if it’s a triple square 12mm

    Audi recommends replacing axle nut due to stretch..used it over 3 times and I’m still here.

    Never be behind the wheel or any airbag when you connect the battery and put the key in the ignition and turn it after working on air bags. They can go off and cause injury.

      Ryan Coffman Hey Ryan. The two airbag torx are 30 if memory serves me and the main one holding the steering wheel in the center is a 55 torx 😉😁

    Is your car facelift? One more thing? How to clean the contact ring, because I have some issues with my horn?

    • @carfanfan
      @carfanfan  Před 4 lety +1

      Yes, mine was a facelift. If your horn is not working properly it could be the two contacts where the wires connect in the steering wheel or it could be the horn itself which is behind the front bumper. There are two, a low tone and a high tone.

    • @frozenwitcher4955
      @frozenwitcher4955 Před 4 lety

      @@carfanfan I did change my horns. I didnt have two of them so I installed only a low tone one. It works perfect when im driving. But when the car is only on ignition without the engine working the horn is giving a weird sound (maybe because i installed only one?). Also when the car is still cold in the morning the horn is not working.

    how did you install this screen?

    • @carfanfan
      @carfanfan  Před 5 lety +1

      I did a video on how I did it but it was a while ago. You need a double din symphony system in your car first of all. Then you need the Metra dash kit fr eBay to install on the radio itself. The Metra kit attaches to the radio and the then slides into the radio cage in the dash. So the black plastic you see around my screen is actually attached to the unit. The wood the above the radio unclips and will allow you to uninstall and install your radio.

      @@carfanfan the bottom piece where the ashtray goes, where have you got it? Is it a piece of another model?

    • @carfanfan
      @carfanfan  Před 4 lety +1

      @@alexdelamoruiz1 The ashtry is unique to models with a double din system. I got mine on eBay. JUST SEARCH Audi B5 ashtray and you're bound to come across a few. They aren't cheap. Also make sure with the seller the one you're looking at is from a car with the Symphony sound system and not a Concert as Symphony is double din. The gearshift wood surround is also unique to the double car so you need to replace that as well otherwise the ashtray won't fit
