That was one of the best SOUNDING pizzas I've seen on this channel. Every bite had that soft crisp I like. I know Dave prefers pizza on a burnt cracker... but this looks perfect for me.
Agreed. Sometimes when it's charred on the bottom, you can taste a little bit of ash which ain't that good.

7.9 means it’s at least a real slice. If he woulda picked any other slice it’s probably an 8.5. The owner’s real. Definitely the best Toronto slice so far. He’ll do well.

I’ve noticed with many pizzas, that it’s very important to let them cool down. For some science reasons, less flop and grease.
Cheese & sauce....same with a good lasagna..definitely better when it cools down a bit.

This is my favourite pizza in Toronto since I discovered it a while back. Its Friday night dinner at least once a month. For me, this pizza is perfection.
Dave is ABSOLUTELY low balling all these Canadian pizzas. This is the opposite of when he was giving 7s out like candy mid Covid.

If you go back in to the beginning where Dave selects his first slice it is identical to the other pieces he inspected. It has color, it has char. It has crunch. Dave doesn't know what he's talking about. It's on video. Come on, man.

Plus, the first bite from the first slice and the first bite from the second slice are right next to eachother in the middle of the pie.

I've had all the places he's been to and this is my favourite in the city. I love North of Brooklyn as well, but if North of Brooklyn gets an 8.4, this should easily get 8.4 as well, if not higher.

OK this pi,za looked absolutely amazing! Sounded like a good eat also haha. Thid one deserved an 8.1 at the minimum. It doesn't need to have char if it's already crispy as we could clearly hear it is. Even crisper then many of your other pizzas that have char that we can barely hear lol.

First off, hilarious how Portnoy pronounced "Pape" ... I grew up in this area and went to junior high around the corner from this spot back in the late 80s/early 90s. I used to go to that place to grab a slice for lunch when it was a convenience store that also sold pizza like the current owner alluded to, and it was greasy decent back then... Looks good, will have to go back for sentimental sake.
I was feeling 8.4 - he really enjoyed it, and seemed to get slighted by a small technicality. Happy this place is getting attention.

Usually Dave is spot on based on looks alone but this look got a lower score. 8.4 imo looked FANTASTIC and great sound
My favourite part was Dave fancying up the name of the street...it's pronounced as it looks. Pape (rhymes with vape, or grape, or ape), not "Pah-pay" as Dave pronounced it.

I hope the owner reads all these comments but more than anything I hope regardless of the still good score, he knows that it was more like an 8.6 for Dave. Idk what Dave was doing here with the BS about the spotting on the bottom. Yeah that's dope but it's still nice and brown and cooked and has some spotting and obviously tastes amazing. There's no way the 2nd slice tasted significanty better than the 1st. I just looked this place up and their google reviews are at a 4.8 with 98 reviews. That's insanely good. Again, best looking and sounding pie I've seen on this channel.
